Owen County 60 Simon Kenton 46.  Sk lead going into the 4th quarter 36-33, but Owen Co. outscored SK 15-1 in the final three minutes to to get the win.

Congrats to Owen County on both the win, and the furious onslaught in the last 3 minutes.

Mildly surprising result for me, but it is game #1, so no reason to put too much into it.  Does bode well for Owen County moving forward, that is a lot of toughness and grit to show right out of the gate.

Not sure how that game got away but thought it was a decent start for an extremely young and newly acquainted SK team.  SK has a beast in Webb (Sr) and it was good to see her back in action looking strong, solid play from Baker (Sr) and some great young talent that showed really well this early in the season in Pernell (7th), Slusher (So), and Kelch (8th).  Interested to see how this comes together.

Brynlee Pernell is another of the 6 or 7 seventh graders I referenced in another thread that will be on the top of everyone's radar for the next 6 years.  Very strong, not a lot of length, but a shot-maker, and a DOG (that is a huge compliment from me), she will fight you for every loose-ball and every inch of the court.  Love how she plays.

She has learned from the best her brother Brandon Hatton Dixie grad.
