  1. Don’t tell me the talent isn’t there when the Freshmen team consistently wins. How can BW not find 15 kids to go play 85% of the game and win?!?!
  2. Frosh scores the past three years: 2017: Highlands 40 Cooper 0 2018: Highlands 26 Cooper 14 2019: Highlands 40 Cooper 12 What happens after Frosh year?
  3. Been attending games up at DCM for over 20 years and that’s the worst loss I’ve seen.
  4. Does the same thing happen in Ft Thomas for soccer, baseball, and basketball? These Highlands programs are thriving and consistently competing for regional and state titles. Do the better players stay in the local Moyer, Knothole, and YMCA leagues?
  5. Anybody that thought this game would be close hasn’t been paying attention.
  6. Kids need to be going both ways! We've been screaming this for several years now. If you're playing to win, then the best athletes and football players need to be on the field 80% of the game. Highlands 5 losses last year were all to teams that played kids both ways.
  7. Year in and year out the freshman team goes 9-1 or 8-2 but we can’t find enough players to win?!?! Coaching
  8. That was an ugly, sloppy high school football game played by two teams that will both struggle. Based on tonight's performances, Ryle will probably win 3 games. And Highlands will probably go 4-6.
  9. Conner's junior class has been good all the way up. I think Conner gets the win in a close one.
  10. Seems like this same conversation and debate has happened the last 3-4 years... Developing players? Playing both ways? Talent utilization? Offensive schemes? Defensive schemes? I feel like I could just go back and copy/paste comments from previous seasons 😁
  11. Hergott - Transferred to Beechwood Buten - Injuries Vinson - D1 basketball player Who else?
  12. Absolutely true. Losing the QB and Buten are huge losses for this senior class.
  13. So the current combined varsity squad was 6-0 against Simon Kenton with a total combined score of 215 - 86 in the six games. The current seniors were 8-1 as frosh and beat Simon Kenton 24-0 and 20-23. The current juniors were 7-2 as frosh and beat SK 40-20 and 42-15. The current sophomores were 8-1 as frosh and beat SK 44-6 and 45-32. To say that SK had guys develop better is certainly an understatement. The current Highlands varsity team as freshmen was a combined 2-1 against the Ryle Raiders with a combined score of 58-20: Current Seniors beat Ryle 27-3 Current Juniors beat Ryle 21-14 Current Sophomores lost to Ryle 10-3. Let's hope that Ryle's guys didn't develop nearly as well as Simon Kenton's.
  14. Does anyone know what the W-L records were of the Frosh teams of the current seniors, juniors, and sophomores? And, how did they do against SImon Kenton as freshmen? I’m guessIng that it was three pretty lopsided victories for Highlands.
  15. I guess if you’re counting a couple of plays, then there were a couple of others that played “both ways.”
  16. Besides South and Hartman, who else played both ways?
