New year new team. Campbell County by 10.

Added poll.

This is a tough one to call at this point.

Campbell looked much improved from last year against Cooper on Friday. Preston Agee is a serious gamer. They didn't pass a whole lot, but their attempts led mostly to completions (7 for 9), and their completions consistently led to good yardage (99 yards / 14.1 yards per completion). They had three guys who produced decent yardage on the run, but I'd like to see a better push when they need it. 158 rushing yards isn't terrible for a game, but 257 total yards offense isn't overwhelming. The first game was essentially more like a scrimmage for a lot of offenses around the state, and ideally for the Camels, that was the situation. Campbell County has some good things to build on.

Conner has a couple of extra advantages walking in...Campbell County hasn't seen any tape on Conner, and Conner has seen tape on Campbell County. Conner is looking for a replacement this year for Jared Hicks, whose 2756 yards passing accounted for 75% of their 3696 total yards offense on the season. Hicks was also their #2 rusher last season. Sounds like junior QB Alex Castrucci is going to be getting the not. The Cougars also have to replace their leading rusher, and despite returning their top receiver, they graduated their next 4 receivers in terms of yards gained. They do get their two top tacklers back on defense though, and they're only juniors. There's a lot that remains to be seen at this point when it comes to Conner.

Conner's Coach Trosper seems to be a coach who brings offensive power (I believe he's the OC...but I could be wrong). Coach Woolf is a defensive guy. Campbell County's defense did a good job of handling Cooper...Cooper had 195 yards total offense in the game on Friday, and at least a third of those yards came on a single run play by Jeremiah Lee, who may be the best rusher Campbell County sees this season.

This has the potential to be a battle, but I'm going to go ahead and give Campbell County a slight edge since they already have a game under their belt. I think @Fandamonium is about probably in the ballpark predicting a 10 point win for the Camels.

We have Campbell County ranked #13 in 6A and Conner ranked #15th in 5A.

Campbell by 10. Coach Wolfe will have the Camels pointing in the right direction. Way too big of a School and talent not to have some sort of success.

Conner's junior class has been good all the way up.  I think Conner gets the win in a close one.

Conner 6 Campbell 0

Conner 13 Campbell 0

Conner 16 Campbell County 0

Conner 15 Campbell 6 start of 4th Q.

Conner 29 Campbell 6 almost a final.
