Congratulation to the Highlands 6th grade coach, Mike Herald, and the 6th grade Bluebirds. This will be the 7th year in a row the Highlands 6th grade boys are playing in the championship game.

For 6th and 7th grade, I've heard the following: 6th Grade Twenhofel vs. Campbell County Highlands vs. IHM 7th Grade Highlands vs. Summit View St. Pius vs. Woodland

I think the QB, Austin Hergott, went to Central Michigan.

Highlands Frosh BEAT Anderson by 2. The Birds Frosh had a comfortable 8-10 point lead for most of the game. Then, late in the game, the Birds had a few turnovers and Anderson hit two big 3s in consecutive possessions to tighten it up. The Frosh Birds hung on and won by 2.

Who are the "dudes" on this year's CCH freshman team that could contribute next year on the varsity team as sophomores?

Highlands has played SK twice this year. If I’m recalling correctly, the Birds won the first one 41-20 and the second one 42-15.

As a long time fan of the NKYFL, I was pleased and excited to hear that FTJFL teams would be playing in the NKYFL. But based on what I've seen and heard, I think the FTJFL would be better served and much more competitive if they had two teams at each level (i.e. two 6th grade Junior teams and two 5th grade Junior Youth teams) rather than four teams of 5th and 6th graders combined. Just my two cents...

Thanks for the explanation. How many teams will FTJYF have at each age division? Also, will the games vs the rotating FTJYF teams count on the traditional league member’s records and be factored when considering standings and playoff seeds?

I’ve heard mixed stories about the Ft Thomas teams participating in the NKYFL. What is the deal with the Ft Thomas Junior League teams? Are they now officially part of NKYFL or just playing some games? Do the games count on official NKYFL records and league standings? Will the Ft Thomas teams be eligible for NKYFL post season? If anyone can clarify, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Glad to hear the numbers are still there for youth football with all of the bad publicity and etc. Are they dividing the teams evenly or creating A and B teams?

Thanks for the input. These were the teams that competed for the Super Bowl Championship last year too. Do all four teams have their key players and starters returning?
