Submitting your defense or any other schemes before you get to know your team isn't a good idea. You have to coach to the talent you have and you have to adjust to the opponent each game.
Will all of the rising 7th graders have a place to play if there is no SR division? What about the kids from Newport, Bellevue, Dayton? Or the kids that will eventually go to NewCath or Brossart?
The tournaments will be played Feb 5-8th:
6th Grade at Woodland
7th Grade at Grant County
8th Grade at Summit View
All of the championship games will be played Feb 10th at Ockerman.
8th grade is different this year because of the boys that have been moved up... know that Woodland, Ockerman, and Highlands are working hard to figure out how to play without some key players from past years
The 2016 and 2017 Birds teams got pushed around up front and missed more tackles than any Highlands team that I've seen. Should that be attributed to a lack of talent or poor coaching or a combination of both?
8th grade is wide open this year. There are a handful of teams that could win it. In no particular order, I would say that Turkeyfoot, Beechwood, Campbell County, Camp Ernst, and Highlands all have a shot to win.
