These Northern Kentucky programs have not faced each other in 22 years. The last time they met was in a game that was part of the Crosstown Showdown at the University of Cincinnati. Beechwood won that game 27-22. The Tigers are hoping to repeat that winning performance in their 2020 home opener. Both teams enter this game at 1-1 with their losses to class 5A rivals Covington Catholic (Beechwood) and Highlands (Ryle). Fans of those schools will be watching this score for a measuring stick of what to expect when they meet up later in the year. Ryle has only allowed 23 passing yards in two games but last week Highlands only attempted 6 passes while rolling up almost 300 yards on the ground. Highlands QB Charlie Noon accounted for 166 of those rushing yards. You can be sure Beechwood is looking to take advantage of that with dual threat QB Cam Hergott. Which of these teams is going to bounce back from their first loss and get back in the winning column?

I would like to hear from Ryle fans about why the the Raiders have allowed so few yards passing. Is their pass defense that good, their run defense that bad or is it the nature of the games and opponents played?

I don't think either team they have faced has a very good passing game. The Highlands back-up QB should start based on the fact that he was pretty light on his feet and got outside quickly.
