Shawnee has a tough time retaining a head coach.

HC had some great teams in the late 80s. Their game at Shelby Co in 87 may have been the coldest and windiest game I’ve ever attended.

IIRC I believe they lost to Lou Holy Cross

Coach Fox is a bright young coach. I would expect OC to build on to what they accomplished last year.

I’ve heard of oddities in baseball fields but this what makes HS football a great game.

I wonder what kind of staff he puts together. Does he bring assistants from BG or does he retain X coaches? I’m sure he has connections in Louisville but getting a staff together for an out-of-town HC might be difficult. Especially if STX requires assistant to be teachers.

Coach Beatty has built Trinity into a nationally recognized program in the way he envisioned it. He saw the opportunity to utilize not only the talent from the CSAA but also giving athletes from public schools the opportunity to get a great education but also a chance to develope their skills against national competition. You may agree or disagree with his philosophy but until somebody can prove Trinity and their administration are doing something outside of what the KHSAA allows, learn to live with it. Congratulations Coach Beatty.

STX, Trinity & DeSales all have built new on-campus stadiums within the last decade or so. So having a community stadium is not an option. Besides you couldn’t get X&T to cooperate on anything having to do with athletics.

Not saying this is the case but when rumors start about something like an athlete transfer, they hardly ever happen. People start to complain and the new school administration doesn’t want to deal with any negative reactions. Usually word doesn’t get out until the transfer actually takes place and the student enrolls in the new school. By then, it’s too late.

I don’t have a dog in this fight but I was wondering how many JRs apply for a transfer to Trinity & STX for their SR year and how many are accepted. Not just athletes but all students. IIRC, years ago STX would not accept a SR transfer for any reason, even if a student moved in from out of town. But like everything else, things change.

So if he’s a sophomore, he’s just 16? If accurate he has a great future ahead of him. Saw him play once this year. Really stood out as a DE. Best of luck to him and his family. A lot to be thankful for and proud of.

I don’t know any inside information but it appears that Coach Woolford had other responsibilities in his life that wouldn’t allow him to give 100% of his time and efforts to coaching a major program like X. He had to make a decision and he decided to give up coaching. I wonder if he would have made the same decision if he had beaten Trinity for the state title.

There is something to be said for coaches being teachers and at the school all day. The only time non-teachers are with the players is at practice. Having coaches in the hallway on a daily basis has a positive effect on players. You can bet the next HC and staff at STX will be mostly teachers

It’s amazing how good a coach Glaser has become since he retired. I can remember people couldn’t wait for him to hang it up. Be careful what you ask for; you just might get it.

Just a guess. Notre Dame’s past recruiting indicates that they will hit the Cincinnati/No KY area pretty hard.

Coach Fox did a great job at OC. He is definitely a young coach that has a great future.

I would expect an offer to be coming from Notre Dame.

I would begin the search with Kevin Wallace and make him say no. Who ultimately makes the decision at STX? Is it the AD or is there a committee?
