Amazing accomplishment.

Thought this game might be a little closer with Guffey out for Grant County again. Grant was just too strong on inside with Hammonds and Wills. Two freshman played well for Grant with Breeden having about 10-12 points. Not sure if williamstown had anyone in double figures. Gunner Fagan had maybe 9-10 points and had to really work to get that.

Didn’t see Mason Guffey in the stats for this game. Looks like he had not recovered from his injury during South Oldham game. Any updates on him? That would take Grant from very young to very very young.

Wasn’t there a rule change last year that kept teams from using that delay of game if time was under 6 seconds in that situation. Clock is not suppose to stop for delay of game if under 6 seconds?

Cov Cath, Highlands, St. Henry then the next 4-6 teams could flip a coin. I think Beechwood and Holy Cross are a lot the same rely on 1-2 players.

After a convincing win over crosstown rival Williamstown on Wednesday Grant gets 7 point win over Brossart. Hammonds with a monster game and is now averaging a double-double on the season. Looked like Zeigler played well for Grant with about 12-14points . #13 & #2 Verst for Brossart with about 20 each. Freshman #23 Breeden for Grant took an elbow to face and left game. Hope it’s nit too bad.

Per scoreboard. Any details? Grant must have played well for it to be this close.

72-68 was varsity final. Khsaa scoreboard had wrong score.

Grant lead most of this game. Grant was up by 2 with about 5 seconds and freshman PG for Grant makes 2 free throws to seal it. Great win for young Braves. Hammonds dominates again. He had to have about 30pts and 15 boards. Dallas Roberts for North with 25 or so points as well.

Solid win for Grant County. Looks like Hammonds lead the way in scoring and rebound for the game. Grants sophomores are pretty good.

Anyone have details on this one.

Great win but not surprised

Great game. Great shot at end for the win by Walton. Huge play At the end of 3rd quarter with a very questionable call. Would love to see the replay. Grant had a player run through a screen while another player for Walton was shooting a 3. Player sitting screen was hit and on ground before shot. There was a lot of debate and Basket was called good. Pretty well called game but that really set the tone for rest of game. Young Braves are seeing glimpses of being really good but can’t find the way to win.

Pretty evenly matched for both: Grants guards were the difference in this game. Hammonds for Grant and Moore were pretty even. Both teams had 6’8”/6’9” young post players. Walsh went off for about 20-25 points. Ziegler had a good game for Grant. Owen had too many turnovers.

Both teams battle on D and couldn’t score on Offense. Grant is very young starting 2 juniors, 3 sophomores, a freshman being first guard off bench and all other subs about the same. The young team is growing each day. Lots of potential down the road. Very physical game. Jags were just a little more stronger than Braves but not anymore skilled. Lots of hustle out of both teams.

Don’t open your mouth as a player and you don’t get technicals...especially 2 in one game.

Grant county as expected defeats Williamstown tonight. They will play winner of SK/Walton on Friday night. Pretty sure they are the 1st team in 8th to qualify for Regionals. SK/Walton 6pm Tuesday should be a good game if Walton is knowing down shots.

Luke Dawalt of Grant County scores his 1500th Point tonight against Bracken County. He lead the Braves with 27 point and 9 boards on their 20th win of the season. He also has has over 900 career rebounds. He is a great player and even better young man. Congrats!

Very exciting back and forth game. Great game for 6pm on Saturday night. Baseline ref had no business calling the travel at end of game. He could not see the ball. Dawalt for Grant had his back to baseline near mid court and ball was bobbled. He was absolutely not in position to call it. Two officials out front of play And were not going to call it. Terrible call in late game situation. Not sure if there is a better guard in the state than McKnight. He went and got a huge rebound put back with and one late that was prob biggest play of the game. The 8th is definitely going to be a great tournament. I wouldn’t be shocked if Collins loses to Anderson.

Grant moves to 16-8 on season. Grant played very unselfish 2nd half. Had to have 20 assist. Absolutely owned boards. Very exciting and fun game to watch. Walton shot lights out first half with 7 maybe 8 threes. Not sure if they hit a 3 the second half. 32nd district tournament: (1)Grant County vs (4) williamstown (2) Simon Kenton vs (3) Walton Verona

You put McKnight on any team 5-12 team in the 8th and they would be top 4 in the region. He’s that good and that’s the difference. Then just add solid athletes around him and coaching puts the ! On

Problem with 8th refs is that there are only 10-12 really good refs. 6 of them were prob at all A boys/girls finals. 3-4 of them ref other regions. Then add any other big Friday night 8th Region games like Collins/Spencer and Shelby/Anderson. I think 1 of the 3 refs were top 20 refs if your lucky. I guess it wasn’t bias but just bad. Also with the intensity Oldham brings all the little fouls will get over looked. No matter what Oldham is way better than Beecheood.

I like Spencer in another close game as long as everyone is healthy and they stay out of foul trouble.
