Grant County 64 Bishop Brossart 57

After a convincing win over crosstown rival Williamstown on Wednesday Grant gets 7 point win over Brossart.  Hammonds with a monster game and  is now averaging a double-double on the season.  Looked like Zeigler played well for Grant with about 12-14points .  #13 & #2 Verst for Brossart with about 20 each. Freshman #23 Breeden for Grant took an elbow to face and left game.  Hope it’s nit too bad.

Grant continuing to play well here in the mid-season....kudos to the Braves!

Grant County's quickness and length made life tough on our Mustangs as scoring out of the offense was compromised, causing us to resort to individual talents to put numbers on the scoreboard.  Grant County sophomore big man Dylan Hammonds is the real deal.  WIth Govan out for the ballgame, the Mustangs had no one his size to counter his efforts resulting in a 32 point outing for the blue-chipper   Wayne Ziegler, who ironically, is a graduate of the Brossart Summer Youth Camp, added 14 points.

Brossart seniors Stephen Verst and Carson Schirmer scored 20 apiece.  Schirmer also stood in and took a pair of charges.

The Mustangs will be right back in action in 24 hours, hosting the Highlands Bluebirds in a NKAC DivII tilt.

THe Mustangs JVs won their second in two nights, taking down the JV Braves 46-30.  Sam Willike led the Mustangs with 14 and Evan Orth contributed 12.  Willike excited the crowd by hitting a 3/4 court shot ahead of the buzzer ending the first half.
