Those young Braves pull out a nice win over North Oldham.

Grant lead most of this game.  Grant was up by 2  with about 5 seconds and freshman PG for Grant makes 2 free throws to seal it.  Great win for young Braves.  Hammonds dominates again.  He had to have about 30pts and 15 boards.   Dallas Roberts for North with 25 or so points as well.

Great win for those young Braves. Sophomore, Guffey has 14, handled the point and  had some huge plays for Grant.  A buzzer beater at the half and  a thunderous oop dunk.  Ziegler goes for 15 and hits a huge 3 in the 4th.  Fun night in Dry Ridge.

72-68 was varsity final.  Khsaa scoreboard had wrong score.

North Oldham appears to be pretty good on social media but their record is 1-3. They were one of the top preseason picks in the 8th.

Impressive win for Grant, as Joe Utter's rebuild accelerates.    As we noted earlier this year, the youngsters in the 8th this year, including sophomores Guffey and Hammonds for Grant, are impressive.  

Dallas Roberts of North is also a sophomore.

Grant's now played three of the better 8th region teams in a row, losing by just 2 to Walton-Verona, and defeating Henry and North.   Not a bad day's work at the office.   They've definitely served notice that they will have to be dealt with come district tournament time...district seeding in the 32nd is looking more and more critical....

LOL....that's the thing about "young" teams!   They grow up!   Looks like the Braves are maturing fast....kudos to the kids and coaches in Dry Ridge.

North continues to have difficulties on the defensive end.   In four games, they've given up at least 72 points in each game.   Still, very early for this North team that has played just four games and - before this game - hadn't played a game since January 22nd.   The Mustangs clearly have the talent.

We'll see how North fares today at 6th Region Butler, in a game broadcast on www.pegasussportsky.com at 6:30 pm.   It'll be interesting to see how they bounce back.
