  1. Not hot at all. Truth. He took the district championship from us and T-ware. Probably the best district championship performance in the history of the 8th district. On our floor. He’s special. And those guys around him were solid tonight too. Their two freshmen guards are bulldogs. Ta’Quan Hollowell and Drew McGowan did an amazing job on t-ware. Hats off to Grant Shouse. Those guys (they were young) couldn’t defend a lick a year ago. Now they take it personally. M
  2. Supposedly they had a starter out the last couple of weeks.
  3. I don't think anybody is going to pick LCA to beat scott county. But any objective person would say that LCA is one of a group of teams that at least has a "punchers" shot.
  4. Lexington christian is one of the few teams in the state that is "bigger" than Scott county. Their discipline and ability to deal with pressure and defend is what it takes to stick with Scott County.
  5. Yep. County and Hoptown will both be down next year. UHA returns their top 4 players and has a monster freshman class already contributing big things. I've always had a theory that it's hard to win more than one game at rupp if it's your first time up there so if UHA wants to make a big run next year I think they need to get there this year and see the big lights. A big man would really help them too... In terms of Thursday night... As a County fan, I thought perhaps heights couldn't shoot in our gym. When we beat them 3 weeks ago at our gym they couldn't hit the broad side of the barn but they still led in the second half. If they hit 13 3's against us thursday night i'll tip my cap to them. The scary thing is... They don't have to get "hot" to do that. They just have 4 guys who when they let it go they think it's going down every time. And as much as I love T-ware... Kyky Tandy is the best i've seen in the second region is a REALLY long time. All due respect to John Hood and Scotty Hopson. But I'll go ahead and say Tandy is better than both of them. Already.
  6. That’s crazy. The beat three top ten teams last week and just beat their rival in the district tourney. LCA is a top ten team. They’re outstanding. They might win every other region In KY.
  7. Tandy had 8 3’s. McGowan was the difference in the second half. The Mississippi Stste baseball commit had 12 second half points and had a personal 8-0 run that kept UHA in the lead. That UHA Junior class could end up with 4 Division one athletes in Tandy, hollowell, and McGowan and Lilly Strader who is a murray state soccer commitment. I’m a County guy but I have a massive amount of respect for what UHA does getting kids to the next level. Their kids don’t go juco.
  8. I thought livingston had a shot to beat a 2nd place non district 8 team in the regional first round. Shocking loss. But it was played in Marion...
  9. Oooh, I know. 5 Win and 4 seed Crittenden county over 17 win and 1 seed Livingston Central. LOL> But yeah, that happened last night.
  10. Oh, and... LCA. I'm going with LCA and I'll also predict that they come the closes to beating Scott County in the post season tourney.
  11. Hoptown was 7 of 13. I guess I chose my words poorly. They shot over 50% from 3 point range. McCracken shot 33% from 3 pt and 27% from the field yet only lost by 3. I think we can see what happened. McCracken couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. When they beat Christian County, they couldn't miss. Just one of those nights.
  12. Congrats to the young man. Great kid despite not playing for my Colonels. He deserves all the credit he gets. He apparently has a legendary work ethic despite his quiet demeanor.
  13. And I should revise my comments to say the best "senior". Tandy is the best player in region 2 in my opinion.
  14. I thought some were saying that a list would be narrowed to 5?
  15. I think they and Madison Central are the top threats to Scott County in the Region.
  16. Detorion Ware from Christian County has to be a finalist. He's been the best player west of I-65 by a WIDE margin.
  17. Nice win for HOptown. All of the district 8 teams seem to be clicking. These games right before district are interesting. McCracken, a great shooting team was ice cold. one guy who shoots 40% went 1-11 from 3 point range. McCracken seemed to get a ton of open looks, they just didn't go in. LIke most games, it boils down to who makes shots. Hoptown made a ton of 3's again last night just like against Owensboro. Sometimes playing teams that aren't familiar with you gives you an advantage and I think that's part of what happened the last two games for Hoptown. They are the deepest team in the 2nd region in terms of "able bodies'. But they have flaws. They are probably too dependent on the 3 pointer. And we know how those teams usually do in the tournament. First game that they are cold... They're out. The 8th District Tournament and the 2nd Region tournament will be terrific.
  18. As Scarmucci said.. Gender is a spectrum. I guess sexuality is too.
