  1. I think Livingston could beat any of the 2nd place teams besides the 8th district (if they win the 5th district).
  2. It's hit and miss. He's healthy right now and has been for the last month. But the knee could start giving him trouble tomorrow.
  3. Nice win by Hoptown. I believe they hit 14 3's in this game. When they've stuck with good teams they've hit a ton of 3's. I was at the game and I had trouble seeing how Owensboro had handled so many tough teams. Their defense was pretty rough. The last play when Johnson hit the 3 to force overtime was a great example of it. They just left him wide open. NO screen, no awareness etc.. if Hoptown makes those shots they have a shot against UHA next week. I'll be interested to see what they do at McCracken on Friday.
  4. Nice win. Henderson is playing pretty good. I believe UHA led by as many as 16 before some late prayers went in for Henderson to make it respectable.
  5. Lafayette is a team that would really worry me... their 3 top guys are as good as anybody. Hacker is an amazing shooter as a good 4th option
  6. Just like every year.. (Regional champ from 8th District) Madisonville has a chance to end that streak in two years. Henderson had a chance this year until they lost their top 3 players.
  7. Nice write-up. Thanks for doing this. Come on Henderson and Livingston Central. 38-33... Really?
  8. Who is the state's all time leading scorer and how many points does he have? Sorry. Kelly Coleman. Looked it up
  9. They lost him on the last play of regulation. They played the overtime without him and were quite obviously very emotional and motivated to win for him. There could be some of that motivation moving forward but I think in the long run they will suffer without him.
  10. Actually, I'd put Trinity, Scott County and Cov Cath as those "3". Then i'd put Madison Central on the "door step" as a team that could fight to be in that group. Then you have 5-15 that are all really close. Then 15-30 are all really close.
  11. 7- South Warren 5- Fulton City 3 - Warren Central 2 - Hancock County 1 - Calloway County TB - Warren Central PS: Savage lineup this week. That Fulton City Vs. CCA game... Wow.
  12. I agree. I'd say the 15th to 30th ranked teams in the state are very close. And I think the top 3 are all very close. Then you have a group from 4-15 that is really close..
  13. i promise I'm not being a smart butt. But who put the list together at the top of the page?
  14. Both are very good. But Madison Central's recent loss to Henry Clay puts them out of contention for the top spot in my opinion.
  15. Yep. It's just not a basketball "play". it's run it's course. I think the "circle" under the goal has made it worse. If a guy is "outside" the circle he almost always gets the call.
  16. The "charge" call where a guy stands still and let's a guy run him over should be removed from the rulebook. It's not a basketball play. The only offensive fouls should be when a guy pushes off or lowers a shoulder/illegal screen, hooking in the post etc... When a guy is simply running to the basket or going up for a layup and bumps a stationery defender, it should not be a foul. In my opinion they need to make this a foul on the defense. if this were to happen you would see a much more enjoyable game and according to the refs I know the game would become much easier to officiate as there would no longer be guys "stepping in" to take charges. Players would step in to try to block a shot or steal a ball.
  17. I think with Payne being finished for the season any talk of Lex Cath being in the top 20 is over. What a terrible loss for them. Great kid.
  18. No. A. Those games were 2 months ago and B. Lexington Christian was without their best player in those games. Are you raking based on record or are you ranking based on the actual "quality of the team right now" as most rankings are based on?
  19. I have a hard time seeing how anybody can justify putting Lexington Christian behind Lafayette when they whipped them by 15 a week ago and have reeled off 13 straight wins before an incredibly emotional tough loss in a rivalry game. it also makes very little sense to have Walton Verona in front of them considering they beat them on a neutral court. Glad to see Christian County back in. Reality is, we could make a run to the final 4 considering our sweet 16 draw.
