  1. I agree. I just don't see how you could do a fair "seeding". THe computers are flawed. Cantrall has teams ranked ahead of others despite having a worse record and LOSING three times to that team. Litkenhous seems to give the early season way too much credit. If you use a "committee" you are sure to end up with people on the committee who have never seen some of the qualifiers play. I just think it's too tough to try to make it fair. Because it would never be fair. That's why I think you leave it to "chance".
  2. I think the core issue with Ware is this... He's a shooter and a "banger". But he's only 6'4/6'5.. He's not a particularly good ball handler, he's not particularly quick, he shoots a "set shot" and not a jump shot. You rarely see him shoot off of the dribble. So in short, what he does, he's PHENOMENAL at. But, he doesn't really have a big arsenal. So when a college coach watches him and thinks, "how would this translate" I think they have trouble seeing how he will score when he doesn't get a ton of offensive rebounds and when the other team doesn't turn it over. he gets a ton of baskets/3's off of offensive boards, turnovers and scrambles. Which isn't said to take away from how great he is. He's truly one of the best and most unique players i've seen in district 8. But I don't think it will translate that well to college. He can certainly fill a role on a team, but I don't see him being a big time college player.
  3. Henderson was supposed to do it in the 2nd this year. Madisonville is supposed to in 2020... We've heard these types of situations before (just like Glasgow). But actually doing it is tough.
  4. Those advocating for seeding... how would you go about doing it? The two major computer rankings have major flaws...
  5. I just pray we win tomorrow night because it may be a while before we make it back to the regionals. You guys are loaded for years to come.
  6. Tomorrow night will mark the 18th consecutive year where a a district 8 team will win region 2. Are there any other similar streaks in other regions? What is most impressive is the fact that 3 of the 4 district 8 teams have won the region multiple times in that stretch.
  7. You are selling heights short on their defense. They held union to their lowest output of the season. The sign of a good team is when they don’t let the struggles on one end of the floor effect the other. I give us the edge because we start 4 seniors but I also have a feeling uha has figured out our zone and I don’t think we can win playing Man to Man.
  8. Uha won by about 20. Tandy was off but the blazer defense held union under 40 I believe. The streak continues. Monday night is going to be epic.
  9. I talked to some folks who said it was awful last night. Lecturing players before the game about "paying attention" when they talk. In terms of Union County hosting. The reason they didn't have issues with crowds is because nobody wants to drive to Union County. Hell, Crittenden County is easier to get to than Morganfield. It should be in Madisonville and Hopkinsville rotating. Finals in Hopkinsville have had the doors shut when 4,800 show up multiple times. Almost happened last year. The place was packed.
  10. Sounds like it's an issue with defense and discipline.
  11. After trailing by 10 early Christian County dominated the final three quarters to win fairly comfortably. Midway through the 3rd Madisonville cut the Christian County lead to 7. Madisonville seemed a bit slow tonight and really struggled making shots. Christian County got it's usual big performance out of Ware. This sets up a rematch of the double overtime thriller from a month ago when Christian County beat Henderson at Lyle Dunbar Gym. I'm sure Henderson County is happy this game is on their home court.
  12. Part of why we don't have those crowds is because of the gyms... If we had a nice college gym with seats and good concessions I think we could get 5,000 +
  13. First region is a great tournament this year. 5 teams who have a legit shot. Well. Maybe 4.5. Marshall county has a shot but probably the 5th best shot out of Graves, Tilghman, McCracken, mayfield and Marshall. I'd give Mayfield the best shot and then McCracken and then Tilghman, Graves and Marshall.
  14. "fairness" and "revenue" The teams all split the gate. But the concessions go to the schools.
  15. Yeah. it's ridiculous. The ad's who did this know who they are... And they should be ashamed. So self serving and immature.
  16. Yeah. that's why they moved the second game back so much. Just so dumb. The two or three ad's who are pushing so hard to move the region around are really doing a disservice to everybody.
  17. Nightmare scenario for Madisonville and Christian County. Dream scenario for University Heights. Ugh. Feb 28th 6:00 Henderson vs. Lyon County feb 28th 7:30 Madisonville - Christian County March 1st 6:00 University Heights vs. Hopkins Central March 1st 7:30 Crittenden County - Union County Semi-finals March 3rd at 2:00 and 8:00 (how dumb... They are clearing the gym because it doesn't have enough capacity) Finals March 5th 7:00 All at Henderson County. Come on Region two coaches and ad's. Come together and agree that Madisonville and Hopkinsville need to be the two gyms who host. Or move to an out of region neutral site college gym
  18. All due respect to Shelvin. Kyky is miles better than Shelvin. That was a "in hindsight" situation. With Kyky, he's truly an elite prospect. And on cue, he's going on an unofficial visit to Uk tomorrow.
  19. He's got more skill and athleticism. He's also very strong. And man is he tough. He takes a beating. We pushed, hacked, slapped etc... I saw him and Mcgowan after the game and they both had HUGE gashes on their neck and head from where we had hit them.
