You read my mind. I'd bet money that this is where he ends up. -

Somebody needs to ask the Cov Cath coach why his kids don't participate. To pass up such an honor is interesting. I'd love to hear the explanation. -

What exactly is Monteverde going to do for Him? Get him more exposure? He’s already an elite level talent.. -
Haworth has been begging to get an interview for this Job. This I know... He has interviewed for Western... But is hoping for something better. Can't blame him there.

For Almost every school the head Basketball coach has a year to year contract. The year isn't over yet. So I assume they offered Tim the chance to go get another job so they didn't have to announce that his basketball coaching contract wouldn't be extended another year. -
The paranoia about the all a and the 2a pushing us to classifications is misplaced. These midseason tournaments ASSURE the big state tournament will survive. I'll put it this way. If the all a didn't exist I think there is a better chance that we would have classifications by now. This year only 1 All a region champ made the sweet 16. So that allowed 15 other teams to have a chance to play in a "state" tournament. By creating the 2a tourney you get even more teams who will be able to experience that type of success. I don't see the state wide sweet 16 ending any time soon and the 2a tourney only helps that.

Great point... I wish the AD's of Region 2 who have decided to have the regional tournament format in such a way where kids are having to travel more and play on tighter schedules would put the kids first and have the tournaments at the bigger gyms in the region so you don't have to split games and have boys and girls games on the same days. To have the tournament in Central Hopkins, Henderson, and Union County is a shame. It should be in Madisonville and Hopkinsville every year and it should be coordinated in a way with the girls tournament to not overlap. Let's hope the AD's of region 2 start Look out for the kids on that one.

2A Classic - Section 1

Hopkins Central? Yeesh... Not much to do around there. -
yeah. Folks looking for negativity when there is none. Green was hurt for a nice chunk of the middle of the season and came back and played a very important role. I think those theorizing that he is going to transfer are wrong. And again, please post a link to the ksr article saying he's going to transfer. Thanks in advance.

There isn't a story of Green possibly transferring. And Cal was waiting on much better players than Hollingsworth. We ended up with a fine backcourt. hollingsworth would have been helpful, especially when Quade Green was hurt but he wouldn't have been a significant difference maker for UK. Tandy is a far superior talent than Hollingsworth and Cal is recruiting him earlier and harder than Tavion. I enjoyed watching Hollingsworth at WKU this year but I'm not losing any sleep over him not being in Lexington.

And with University Heights grad james White (Harvard grad and b-ball player) as the head master I think basketball will continue to be a priority. -

They can't let him go as a teacher. So I'm sure he's still teaching. -

Was he a junior or is he doing a post grad there next year? If he's only a junior, what a shame. -
Folks are looking at this at a way too "micro" level. We are simply following a national trend. families have a lot more options for entertainment as well as a lot more "time commitments". I'm sure there were families who couldn't come because they had soccer and baseball games last weekend.. 15 years ago before the rise in popularity of "travel sports" kids would have had a game on Saturday morning and free time the rest of the day. Now kids travel two or 3 hours every weekend and have 2 or 3 games. It's the same reason why other sports attendance is down, country club membership is down and movie attendance is down. A LOT more competition for entertainment dollars.
