Good initial road test for this year's Colts. DeSales should win, but taking a young team out of the city for their first road game (against a strong opponent) will present challenges.

Male's tradition wins this game for them, but athletically they are pretty even. I'll go Male 28-24.

Curious to see those new rankings....tough chore!

The Colts are putting together a nice resume. They add a win against a 5A top 5 team to their two wins against 6A top 10 teams.

This is just off the top of my head, but I THINK that NCC just became the first 2A team other than Desales to beat CAL since 2012.

Things just got even MORE interesting in the most interesting division!!!

Wow! This would be the first 2-A team not named DeSales to beat CAL in YEARS!!!

Excellent, and I think the percentages and the reasoning behind them are on point.

Different polls have different rankings, and I couldn't argue with any of them. My only beef would be if someone other than CAL is ranked #1. I didn't mind in a pre-season poll, but at this point, they're #1 until they lose.

Kudos to both teams for scheduling a game like this. I hate to be negative toward my fellow Catholics, but I'm going with Cal 31-7.

The CAL train is going to be hard to de-rail. But I can't wait to visit there next month. I have seen some DOOZIES in that stadium!

We will see where DeSales stacks up in the next 30 days. After already facing two really good 6-A teams, the next four games are Fern Creek, Lexington Catholic, North Hardin, and CAL. Then they finish with three easy ones. It's hard to imagine that they come out of that undefeated, but they will be battle tested come playoff time.

I think this has the potential for a running clock.

I am not surprised about the Butler win over Fern Creek. Butler is going to make some noise this year. I am confused by the Central dominance of Fern Creek followed by the Ballard dominance of Central. Including the DeSales win over Ballard, that would make this look like a very winnable game for the Colts. And THAT makes me nervous....

Wow! That makes Desales' handling of Ballard look even more impressive.

I have quite an idea about CAL.

As I pointed out to my St X buddies this week, this is absolutely absurd. It shows DeSales as a 12-point favorite over St X when we all KNOW it should be at least 20!

CAL 35-7, and the 7 comes late.

A couple of my friends in Mayfield thought last year's team was the best one in recent memory. If this one is BETTER, that's scary. 2A is going to be fun to watch this season.
