Although I 85% agree with you, the Collins team is the #1 team in the region on many people's rankings. The gallatin vs Collins game was really good and Collins escaped with a win. I do believe anything is possible, but when "Class A" schools compete against the bigger schools in march it seems they break down almost every single time.

8th Region Rankings/Recap
jjmonster07 replied to TheSteelCat's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
you are right my friend! I also believe that Collins is very beatable and could easily lose that #2 spot. They rallied late in the 4th to escape gallatin with a win, and they beat grant in OT. I will give it to them that they possibly are the best closers in the region! Excited for the All A this week! -
Gallatin County 69 Owen County 46

A good win for Gallatin, I would think they are the favorite in the district this year. They moved the ball great in this game. They could easily be 6-0 this year, lost a bad one in Walton in OT, and let go of a 4th quarter lead against a good Collins team. If Rassman and Wilson get going early offensively, they are a hard duo to stop. Still a lot of big games ahead for them to prove themselves as an elite region 8 team. I think this Owen county team will decrease the deficit to Gallatin after Tacket gets healthy, but that is a very large gap to fill in order to beat the GC boys. -
The DB on the Kentucky team who won the MVP was an absolute stud. He is a great sized corner. He has great talent and is very physical. He seemed a little cocky but confident. Anyone have a name for this kid and does he have any offers?

I personally never believed that Anderson was at the top of the region. This does make it very interesting. -

I'm glad miles is scoring, if this Walton team is going to win a lot of games they have to get clinkenbeard more involved offensively. He is their best player and Is a tall guy with guard abilities. -
Collins 55 Gallatin County 51

Really good game, really bad officiating on both side. The third quarter scoring was at a minimum due to the amount of uncalled fouls. The Titans outsize gallatin by a lot (although you wouldn't know it on the boards.) Turner has a beautiful mid-range shot that he used a lot. Rassman came out firing again, but there was not a lot of scoring from either teams back courts in the second half. This is what hurt gallatin IMO. Congrats to Collins on a hard fought win! -
Anderson County 84 East Jessamine 82 (2OT)
jjmonster07 replied to 16thBBall Fan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Not sure what happened to Anderson county this game. I was not there, so I can not talk about performance levels. To be the the best team in the eighth region they have to prove it against 8th region teams not teams like east Jessamine. I hope to see them pick it up when it comes to region play. -
Gallatin County 72 Williamstown 67

I totally agree the amount of charges they attempt are crazy. In one play last night, 2 kids took the same charge in the same play lol. -
Gallatin County 72 Williamstown 67

Fox has an unbelievable vertical and can cram it. He also can shoot from the perimeter (at least in warm ups). Seems like he played really timid, It would be great for Wtown if he gets some experience and starts being a true big. Good luck the rest of the year to the demons, we will see you in January! -

I also am surprised by this score! Sounds like it was a good game, I see Griffin got his. How well did the others score for south? -

Rassman was on fire tonight. Expected to see williamstown go to Fox more. I barely saw him on the floor during the second half (he wasn't in foul Trouble either). -

In a standard church league offense, you can't cuss when you miss a shot. -
Gallatin County 94 Eminence 69
jjmonster07 replied to jjmonster07's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Yeah the wildcats rotated 10 players the whole game, always had fresh legs on the floor. Eminence struggled with depth, Kemryn Jenkins is a nice a player but needs some help offensively. -

2016 All-Northern Kentucky Teams
jjmonster07 replied to Lawnboy13's topic in KY Football (High School)
I 100% agree with this. I believe that many if not all NKY teams would have loved to have Lonaker as their QB. The kid had a break out year and did a lot of things right. Morgan just has so much control with the ball, he can do anything he pleases with his throws, A true pocket passer. I do believe that Blackburn from Ludlow should have been noticed, and how about the kicker from Gallatin? -
Gallatin county beat the crap out of Grant county and KCD today. A ton of improvement from this group.
-
They are all very talented but it seems like because they are all on one team their stat lines aren't as impressive as some of these guys who are the only scorer on their teams. That would be the reasoning in my opinion of hawkins not being top 5 and the rest of the squad not being ranked. I also think hawkins is a great player/sharpshooter but seems like he doesn't create his own shots. Im not saying he isn't able to but the team scheme doesn't ask him too.

Do you know if this is the JP2 team with Ben Brooks at QB. I used to live in that area and kid was a stud. He has committed to play baseball for Memphis but i know he had been getting a lot of notice from UCLA's football staff. -

Bracken County/Bishop Brossart Predictions
jjmonster07 replied to LVGambla32's topic in KY Football (High School)
He got that in the first 2 drives, and did not get touched in either of those. And then what did he do? He is a quick guy but you're kidding yourself if you think he is capable of breaking tackles. If BB shuts down Parker, they win. -
Bracken County/Bishop Brossart Predictions
jjmonster07 replied to LVGambla32's topic in KY Football (High School)
I only got to watch the Bracken vs Gallatin game. Nick Parker is very fast but he is quickly shut down with contact and IMO does not like it. The Key to this game as always will have to be BC's line giving a good push and Nick finding lanes if Bracken is going to win. -
