South Oldham 73 Shelby County 63

Final from Crestwood

Griffin 31 for South.

Edwards 20 for Shelby County

Much closer than I expected especially at South Oldham saw Shelby Monday did not look very good against Mercer, but its early I think South is still the team to beat in the 8th region.

Gonna have to figure out how to keep folks out of the post. They trap out front and are vulnerable down low and are like all South teams with no real post presence. They didn't shoot it terribly well tonight either. First game. Good contest. SC plays hard. Had they made some free throws it would have been more interesting

Joe Griffin is fun to watch

Joe Griffin is fun to watch

He really came on last year he is definitely fun to watch he really seems to enjoy playing the game.

I also am surprised by this score! Sounds like it was a good game, I see Griffin got his. How well did the others score for south?

Well a couple had foul trouble. Hoover and Young had to sit some. Made a difference I think. Franklin started slow then heated up. Morrison seemed to give them a boost right when they pulled ahead to a more comfortable lead.

I think they have a ways to go defensively, but share the ball well. Pressure was pretty good in the 3/4 court

Hummm...after seeing Shelby Monday night and hearing early reports about SO, I did not expect to see a score this close.
