Gallatin County 94 Eminence 69

Featured Replies

Is Nethery an assistant now at Gallatin?

Kids at Gallatin love him. It was a hard game for Coach Nethery and the Eminence players. Most of the Warriors gave him a hug before the game.

The Wildcats turned up the pressure and ran away with this one. Running clock early in the third quarter, subs in the rest of the way. Depth will prove to be a problem for Eminence with their style of play. Its hard to press and run with limited numbers.

Yeah the wildcats rotated 10 players the whole game, always had fresh legs on the floor. Eminence struggled with depth, Kemryn Jenkins is a nice a player but needs some help offensively.

I would say that is accurate.

I just don't get that. It amazes me how many coaches just coach "their" style no matter the personnel. And of course, I say this with little knowledge of Eminence's program...but to me, if you're not deep, then pressing is kinda like having a baseball team full of slap hitters and trying to get them to hit home runs every time haha

Me, personally I have no problem with it. Like you I don't know their personnel, but lets say Eminence has no depth, and assume they have 5 pretty quick, athletic kids that can get down the floor. Throw in the possibly of having no size as well, which may very well be the case with them. It's quite possible with a lineup like this there is little to no chance competing with a lot of teams in the half court, so why not try to speed up the game and play to what strength you might have?

Now, if they had no depth and a couple of plodding 6'5 6'6 kids that struggled to get up and down the floor, then that might be a different story. Again I don't know what they have, but just saying they have no depth thus they shouldn't try to run and press I just don't agree with. But that's me.

Add in the fact that Gallatin also presses full court and easily goes at least 9 deep, the Warriors were gassed midway through the second quarter.

I don't disagree with you, but think in this situation, knowing they gassed out in the 2nd quarter, I would probably use my press in more adventitious spots, and conserve some energy for the rest of the game.
