Two weeks ago the team we played was not on the field when the 3 mins started. Our coach was told by the officials that they just had to be out before the 3 minutes was up. Is this correct?

While Breck is obviously improved, I don't think John will face too stiff of a test. Breck looks like they have enough to maybe make it a good one early if John comes out flat, but that should be the extent of it.

Brown took over a team that had very few seniors coming off a 6-5 year. He then went 7-4 with the schedule that was already laid out for him. This is the schedule that Brown put together. I don't understand why after going 6-5 and 7-4 they needed to cupcake it up in order to get more kids out and make football prominent again. Also, I am not saying this is exactly what they did.....as I agree that North Oldham, Bardstown, and North Hardin should have all been quality opponents that are just having down years.......but lets not say they scheduled weak in order to get wins and get people excited about football again. I can tell you this much, the 4 million dollar stadium and $300,000 instant replay scoreboard weren't built for soccer alone. With all of that being said. I do think Etown is a contender. They have a great coaching staff, 15+ seniors, their kids work hard, and they have enough athletes to make anyone nervous when the season is on the line.

I pulled these stats from the KHSAA website. Hard to use the full season with what happened with BC's defense last week. But if you just go off their two common opponents (Southern/Jtown) (BC played them each following the week after NB). BC Offense - 274 Rushing 657 Passing 931 Total 92 Points NB Offense - 389 Rushing 457 Passing 847 Total 68 Points BC Defense 302 Rushing 196 Passing 499 Total 40 Points allowed NB Defense 88 Rushing 150 Passing 238 Total 15 Points allowed Looks like this has the making for a pretty good game. I don't know if one team holds a strong advantage over the other. I will say this, defense is not something you can't usually fix in one week. But BC offense should put up points on anyone. Should come down to who makes the plays in critical situations on Friday Night. Has the making of a great game.

If Edmonson couldn't play with this Etown group when they were playing as sophomores and juniors, how do they stand much of a chance with them now? Etown names the score in this one.

Was a great game by Shelby County. It was the first time North Bullitt has not been able to run the ball this year. The weather definitely helped their game plan (bring everyone and force NB to pass). But it is obvious that they are a well coached team and should make some noise in 4A come playoff time. Don't know who that district cross over is with, but the #1 and #2 seed in the cross over district aren't being done any favors!

I could argue that the twin playing for Ryle will start a year sooner. His level of competition will be lower, and he'll look like an all star playing against average talent. The kid at Moeller might have to wait a year. And if his is lucky enough to suit up his sophomore year, he'll be going against some of the top seniors in the area and may get smacked around a little bit. I agree with some of the others in the post. A D1 kid is going to stand out and he isn't not going to be missed regardless of his school. Where I think the large high schools hurt you is when the kid is a D3-NAIA-D2 type of kid (maybe even FCS), he may not start until his senior year, and will never be looked at by a larger school (anyone other than the likes of Lindsey Wilson).

Going to have to disagree with this statement. College coaches want to see two things. #1 SIZE - if you don't fit the height/weight bill, then you are immediately out. If you fit the bill, you've won half the battle. #2 They want to see game tape. This is why all of the recruiting combines are garbage and just money makers. And when I say game tape, I mean they want a FULL GAME. They could care less about a highlight tape. They want to watch every play of the game, and not just what you did on your best plays. If you are linebacker that is 5'10" 175, you are out of a scholarship to a FCS major conference. If you are 6'2 225, you have a chance. I personally saw the Oline coach from Georgia Tech offer an offensive lineman a scholarship, 5 minutes after the head coach telling him the lineman was not very good. He was 6'7 310 pounds and preferred basketball. The HC told the coach, I just told you he wasn't very good. The GT coaches response "I know he's an athlete because he plays bball, and he has the one thing I can't teach." They really don't care where you go to school. In fact, going to a school like St. X or Trinity probably hurts many lineman and borderline recruits. Most colleges think if you are FCS quality, then you are playing as a sophomore, and they are going to offer you off of your Junior year game film (if not before then). When you have a borderline athlete (usually lineman) at a big school that has several guys just like you, and you don't start until your senior year.... you are OUT. Take a kid that is a 6'4" 275 sophomore and is SOFT. He'll lose out at trinity or st. x to the 6"0 250 senior that is tough as nails. At a public school, that doesn't have depth. That 6'4" 275 is going to be coached to the max and is going to play. When the coach goes to the game and see 6'4" 275 sophomore in the game, he takes a look. When he sees him on the bench, he writes him off (doesn't matter if it's st. x or not).

I do not know if this has anything to do with Brad Lampley playing for Tennessee as well as being a GA for them in the late 90's early 2000's, but the "T" is the same as the Tennessee Power T. First I ever saw Trinity using that T was in the early 2000's.

I don't think he ran the offense in Nashville (I believe he was just the QB coach)??? So I would expect it to be different than the offense at Father Ryan (even though I am not sure what offense they run.

I do no think there was much at etown when he took over???? Unless I'm mistaken? I think he went from about 30 players when first getting there to around/over 60 when he left. I know he didn't win right away, but after going 1-21, they went 6-5 in his last season while playing with a roster full of sophomores and juniors (he had less than a handful of seniors). I didn't see too many etown games in the past three years, but I know they beat Bullitt Central with less numbers and lineman that he could develop at North? Idk? Time will tell, but established coach Mark Brown went 7-4 at etown the year after Billings left while playing the same schedule after not losing much (unless those 4 seniors were monsters the year before???).

You guys waiting on a press release or something? Don't think there will be one. Don't know what else would constitute "official announcement" but I don't think there is going to be much on the official front.

He was/is not the current OC of Father Ryan......which means it is not Williams. I think was/is their QB Coach????

Do you not yet know his name? Or just don't want to say anything until they do? I know it, but am not sure if X wants to keep it on the DL and don't want to upset the guys I know there.
