All State Teams
Brett Slusher made HM, he is not committed yet, but will be. The two commits did not have all state type years, they were pitched around a lot.

9th Region All-Star Games
A lot of kids pass on this due to summer schedules. I am going to Wright State Monday to watch the Redskins play the Ohio Warhawks. That will keep the BW kids from playing, or at least Combs and Stringer

Breakout 2016 Juniors?
Noah Huesman for BW played quite a bit as the season progressed, and pitched some as well. Very good hitter. will see time at MIF next year as well as on the hill. BW has a bunch of freshmen that will probably play, namely Castleman and Odom.

There you go again calling out a kid by name and throwing a subtle jab. Grow up.

Highlands/West Jessamine State Championship
IMO Highlands has been the team to beat all year. Mostly senior team, Mitch Jones is accustomed to being on the hill in big games. West Jess is playing well, but I'm gonna take the Birds in this one. Birds have been tested in this tourney, WJ got a great draw and hasn't played a really good team yet. HHS has been primed for this night for 3 years when all these seniors were playing as Sophs. As HS goes this is a class of a lifetime for Coach B, and I think they get it done.

State Champs: Way Too Early Edition
No clue, don't know a thing about any teams outside of NKy. Just pointing out they lost a ton, and are in a rebuild mode. If lines come together they will be fine, but they lost t the leaders of that team and a lot of 2/3 year starters

State Champs: Way Too Early Edition
Think you guys are underestimating what BW lost. Almost complete overhauls on both lines and in the secondary. A returning 2 year starter in Combs has declared he's not playing his senior year. Word is a freshman is actually going to play varsity this year due to lack of bodies in the secondary, that's unheard of. IMO last year was their shot, still couldnt climb Mt. Mayfield. I'm sure they will once again look like world beaters vs district opponents, but I'm not yet ready to book a ticket to BG. Great returning skill players at QB RB and WR, but just a whole lot of what ifs after that.

2017 QB Tanner Morgan - Ryle
What's the difference? I don't see any other D1 QBs in NKY. Best is relative to talent, not meaningless and inflated HS stats.

2017 QB Tanner Morgan - Ryle
I guess this ends any debate about who the best QB in NKy is. Congrats kid, that's big time

Best quarterback next season?
So is SK. And they are actually not playing an embarrassment of a schedule for the first time in years. Paper Tiger days are over, time to put up or shut up.

9th Region Finals: Highlands vs Ryle

Boone County 3 Beechwood 1
I didn't say they didn't. My response was to the ridiculous post implying that BW was all about the Midland kids and somehow those 3 kids were to bear this burden. Oh, and all the while praising the coaching staff who also have been there in tact for all 3 years. Two of those kids got their base playing for Brad Slusher and the Jaxx, the other for Jeff Trame and the NKy Braves. Yet every year somebody posts a post like that one about Midland.

Boone County 3 Beechwood 1
Ummmm......you do realize that Purnell is a Midland player too? As is Ziegelmeier. And Raisor. 3 Midland kids with Ws yesterday out of 4 games. That's not bad. And I'm not sure it's people on this board telling you how great they are. Look at PBR, they agree. So does PG. Oh yea, and colleges.

Boone County 3 Beechwood 1
Purnell was a tough matchup for any team. Unfortunately after him Boone become very beatable, look for HHS to beat them handily. That's the danger of regionals, seems every team has one good starter at least. Highlands was not only the best team all along, but drew the one team in the whole tourney that did not have a pitcher capable of beating them. Now they get to play Boone with no Purnell, and then either Ryle or NCC down to their 3. Now is when the depth of that staff will take over. Had they drawn Boone round 1 they could be done, and BW would have advanced. Agree on the Tigers. I've watched them a couple times, something is missing. You have one coach who consistently degrades kids out loud so the entire stands can hear him, and another who does nothing but try to play comedian. Seems some leadership from the top is lacking to me, there was no passion on that team. Two or three players does not make s team.

9th Region Draw Announced
I Not necessarily. At St Henry, for example, as soon as it starts raining the players start tarping the mound and home plate. Could easily be part of the home teams responsibility to get the tarp on the mound. Takes 5 minutes tops.

Good tips on recruiting process...especially for parents
Every dad on this board should print that article and keep it close. Most ringing words are to truly assess your kid from a non biased lens and get them places where they have a shot. Everybody's heart tells them their kid is the next JJ Watt or Marshawn Lynch, and that is a tough pill to swallow but it's a good pill. If you are a HS rising senior and the big boys haven't offered, there is a reason why and an almost certainty it's not coming. Those guys have moved on the 2017 and even 18. Find out what that reason is. Then spend your summer at camps that are right fit for the talent. D1s line EKU and smaller, as well as D2 money, spends just as well as Ohio State or UK money.

9th Region Draw Announced
Agree on the mound, I hate it. Brown should yank it and dirt that area, that's how just about every college turf field is. Not much to a tarp to keep it dry when that is the only area to worry about. I've seen rainy games at that place where pitchers could hardly maintain their balance, far worse than mud.

9th Region Draw Announced
Not sure what the official name is these days, but it's always at the Florence Freedom's park

9th Region Draw Announced
Wow. BW would have been better served to lose to CCH. Get Purnell first then probably Raisor. Top bracket clearly the toughest.

Beechwood 2015
There is still room and talk for a game at Sheakley, that's not dead yet.

Covington Catholic 4 Holy Cross 3 (35th District)
I Good point. He has the next 10 months or so to call back on those million years as to why he didn't pitch his ace, and why the season is over. Sorry. Really dumb move. For this HC team, success was making it to Memorial Day at Freedom. I get we live to celebrate how awesome these coaches are at these little schools, but he blew it. Krumps threw his ace and won. And he will still be playing Monday.

2015 Top players to lookout for in NKY
Why do we care if an article mentions them? So Jr can feel good and momma has more scrapbook fodder? I could care less what Skinner writes or doesn't write, he and honestly anyone at the Enquirer are the last people who's opinion I want on kids in the area. Boards like this-from people who actually watch baseball games-are where I look for info. Of course you have to weed through the daddy posts looking for someone to talk great about their kid, but for the most part it's really good info. I pay attention to what coaches say and write, not media folks.
