colonel-fan Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 CovCath squeaks by and advances to District finals. All 4 CovCath runs came in 2nd inning.
TheFauxTiger Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Why didn't the Indians start Seibert? Unless he is hurt and couldn't go, coach should be crushed. You get to regional first. Period. They are a really poor hitting team, only way to win is to hold opponent to 3 or less. Would love clarity.
Uk2011 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 They were hoping for a lead. And when they got the lead jared Seibert would pitch the rest of the game. He pitched 4 innings giving up no hits while striking out 6 in 4 innings of relief
nkuclubbaseball19 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 They made an educated decision I believe on what they would have defensively based on which pitcher was in the game.

Maybe Pat Ryan's million years of baseball and coaching experience should be questioned by every parent or fan of an opposing team. I'm sure Pat did what he did to put his team in the best position to win. He almost pulled it off. Congratulations Pat and the Indians.

He has the next 10 months or so to call back on those million years as to why he didn't pitch his ace, and why the season is over. Sorry. Really dumb move. For this HC team, success was making it to Memorial Day at Freedom. I get we live to celebrate how awesome these coaches are at these little schools, but he blew it. Krumps threw his ace and won. And he will still be playing Monday.

Voice of Reason Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I am with TheFauxTiger on the Seibert debate. Put your best on the mound and go with him as far as you can. If Seibert was only available to pitch 4 innings, that is poor planning leading up to district play. If he had no innings limits on him, why wouldn't you start him?

Who said he was only available for 4 innings? No one! You read what you wanted so you could agree with your tiger friend. Poor planning, you sure don't know Pat Ryan! I'm sure you would have done it different. Second guessing coaches seems to be a hobby of yours, Football, Basketball and now Baseball you couldn't be a coach your way to smart.
JBSmash Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Having coached baseball for a long time and in this District/Region format, you would have to have one heck of a good reason why your ace was not on the hill in that game from inning one.
