Couple of things: * That is exactly how I was picturing it. I didn't mean to sound nasty, it looks pretty, it is just a rules night-mare unless a local rule is specified. * My opinion would be, after seeing it, and barring a local rule, that no drop would be given; play it off the path, it is part of the hazard.

I've never seen the hole (obviously), I was just going by the description in Post #1. If there is no grass, and it appears that there isn't, I guess it depends on the look. Again, the course needs to make a permanent clarification and state it. I've given you my best opinion without seeing the hole. Again, however, dropping in the bunker should never be the right answer (meaning, I'd darn sure play it off of there before I'd drop it and nearly guarantee myself a tough lie [unless the sand is wet and hard]).

Unless it is marked specifically as not part of the hazard, or the course has established a local rule printed on the back of the scorecard, I don't see how you could ever gain a drop outside of the bunker, under any circumstance.

Again, unless it is marked differently than was explained here, the path is PART of the hazard and you would get no drop at all. How is it not that simple? Is there a marking I'm not aware of? If it bisects the hazard it is in the hazard. Boone Links has stairs to the green on #13 that go through a bunker and if your ball is on the stairs you play from there. It is ridiculous, but it is the letter of the law. No relief from anything in a hazard. Right?

If there aren't lines painted on both sides of the path (specifying that the path is NOT part of the hazard), than shouldn't he technically be required to play it off the path? If the path is IN the hazard, he wouldn't get relief from it. For the record, that is the dumbest design I've ever heard and the scorecard should have a local rule clarifying it. Ridiculous hazard placement, IMHO.

Remake of a Kurt Vonnegut classic...unfortunately. I'm sure Dale will leave his foot on the gas, and as a CCH fan / supporter, that is fine. CCH is a good enough program to be able to defend themselves, so regardless of the outcome, you won't hear this CCH fan crying we got run-up on. Hopefully the Boys will play hard and well, and heck, you never know. That being said, I expect it to get ugly.

Wow. This thread has been unreal. CardinalFan and I don't always see eye to eye on everything, but on this one, we are in full concurrence. This Cincy St. X team is unreal. They spent Labor Day weekend dismantling the #5 team in America. Trinity, in KY terms, is awesome. They have a great chance to win their Umpteenth KY state title. Super team. However, this is a horse of a different color. My prediction of 31 - 10 will get eye-rolled south of Carrolton, but I can assure you, it won't be far wrong. With or without Darius Ashley. For the record, I would love for Trinity to win. I was on the sidelines for T / Elder at Ryle and loved every minute of it. Trinity winning would give me great bragging rights downtown (Cincinnati) where our brand of H.S. football is largely ridiculed and under-respected. I just don't think Trinity has a chance in the world of winning this game.
