  1. My hunch is the same combination of either Votto or Hamilton, maybe Bailey (although I still think that is a 50/50 proposition), plus a couple of lower "A" players will be the bait. My hunch is the Reds would rather use Hamilton AND Votto and keep Bailey and try to work with his "attitude." However, maybe not.
  2. I can't change the station fast enough when this song comes on.
  3. My other potential head-scratcher...work with me here: * All accounts were Kerry Wood was going to sign an $8 million deal with BoSox to be Papelbon's set-up man. * Sen. George Mitchell has a share of ownership with said BoSox. * Kerry Wood re-signs for $5 million with Cubbies. I won't be surprised to see Kerry Wood's name in the report and then some accusations raised because Mitchell (being paid 10's of millions of dollars for this) swore nothing would leak out to his Red Sox partners. Just a theory... Disclaimers: Do NOT "mark it down." No one at any bank gave me any piece of this theory. Neither Sen. George Mitchell, nor Kerry Wood, have ever worn a head-band (to my recollection).
  4. Man, I was thinking the EXACT same thing. :jump: :jump:
  5. I will be SHOCKED if Albert Pujols isn't named in the Mitchell Report. Flat out shocked.
  6. I know of a couple of qualified Coaches that are among the interested. I'm sure Lickert (Holmes) isn't one of them.
  7. He posted he was leaving with a letter in each locker? Are you serious? Didn't even tell them face-to-face? Super-weak. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/falcons/stories/2007/12/12/82396182_petrino.html
  8. Two factors, one you touched on and one you didn't. 1. Lefty. Balances out Arroyo, Harang and Bailey (if he is still here after the deal). 2. Track record from pitching in baseball's most lethal division.
  9. Oh my. We're now comparing Gillispie to Pitino? Tell me again how long Ricky P had been at PU? We'll see.
  10. Where is the smilie face? I'm not sure they can afford either of them long-term...let alone both. Not to mention, the folks that would get one deal done won't be around to get the other one worked out. Best case scenario, it is one of these talented young pitchers.
  11. Wow. Where to begin: * I'm not sure he'll be at UK in 3 years. This was the original crux of my point. * Calling A & M "National Championship Contenders" seems a bit over-zealous. * He has moved around so much putting any faith in his ability to build a long-term successful program is nothing more than a guess. * Without the support of the "money-men" in Lexington he'll not be there long and he isn't helping himself any in that arena these days.
  12. Surely you guys have all seen enough HR videos or listened (at least attended, don't want to stretch it) to HR talks on "business code of ethics." If you are out with co-workers, be it lunch or happy hour, you should expect your behavior to be considered as representing the company. I can't believe the fuss about this? The mistake the moron made was not being more comfortable with his audience -- certainly the guy that took it back to his boss wasn't a close friend. Why make yourself vulnerable by spewing that kind of crap with people that aren't in your circle of trust? If you believe such nonsense, keep it to yourself unless you know how everyone in the area will respond.
  13. I think this game is HUGE for Billy Clyde. Lose this one, with the next one on the road in Houston, and you could have a 4 game losing streak on your hands. Ouch. I expect The Blazers to get The Cats' best effort...and for that not to be enough. UAB -- 67 UK -- 61
  14. Hope you're right. Don't think you are, but I HOPE you are. :thumb:
  15. Since we (UK fans) are so big on assigning blame these days, who gets it for this? I just want to be clear....
  16. What, I like the song? If you and Mr. Heston are going to turn our society into Dodge City just give me an advanced copy of the Memo.
  17. "...wild wild west...." "...wild wild west...." Cue the Kool Moe Dee.
  18. Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."
  19. Given who you work for, absolutely they have to be overly sensitive of these types of moronic statements. You don't work for a private Company. There are MANY companies out there that will terminate an outside sales person for getting a DUI over a weekend. Not on the clock. Still terminated. Given who 98 works for I think it was ABSOLUTELY the prudent thing to do. People need to have more sense than that.
