  1. Thom Brennaman just said that Aurilia is getting a "rare start at 3B." Seriously Thom, your Dad is the voice for goodness sakes.
  2. Fair enough -- what game(s) is/are the barometer for your Bullitt East team? The Central game on 9/8/06? Who else?
  3. Man, Dunner has gone from red-hot to allergic to cow-hide contact. Jeesh....
  4. Beimel has given up more hits than innings against lefty hitters, so let's get off the schneid quickly.
  5. Off the top of my head, yes, he was a free agent and wanted to finish his career playing with Junior.
  6. Hopefully a great deal and for the worst. It'll be interesting to see if Maddux comes back out if the rain stays for a while.
  7. I remember Saenz with the A's...he was a stud. He looks like he has eaten Craig Counsell.
  8. Anyone else want to chip in on a White Castle chest freezer? Seriously.
  9. I can tell you in Burlington it has been nasty since about 7:15. I'm sure they thought that was coming into town.
  10. The Reds need to win 6 of their next 8 to make this homestand (against contenders) a winning one. Not likely. As was aptly said above, this certainly smells like the "beginning of the end." Let's hope they snap out of this (although, with Milton going tonight, not likely) and string some W's together quickly. The Cards are really struggling right now and the Reds are blowing a great chance to be closing ground. So FRUSTRATING. Dunn has been great lately, but like Freel and Clayton the night before (their lack of D cost them the game), Dunn's feeble AB's last night were the difference. If he goes back into a funk, it could be a large female crooning that we hear next.
  11. You can hang last night's loss on Freel and Clayton...period. You can bang on the first-base ump all you want, but that is a play that 30 SS at the Metro this week would make easily. He had all day and no excuse for such an awful throw. Freel's was a tough play, but that ball was is in the pocket of the glove and has to be caught. That is frustrating. Clayton has to make that freaking play. ===================================== Rare good line from Chris Welsh: "...make a mistake to Dunn and you get a new ball..." Classic.
  12. That is a heckuva schedule RP, a heckuva schedule. That would be fun to watch as a 'Rock fan. :thumb:
  13. He is so bad the reverse polarity of a jinx may actually help him. His badness ( ) is immune to any jinx.
  14. I guess Madden, Sports Illustrated, Campbell Soup, and I have something in common then. Maybe I'll go ahead and put Junior up there to hasten the inevitable.
  15. I had Kevin Mench up last week to test the curse theory, he excelled, so I considered it bunk. We shall see. :sssh:
  16. Just to be clear, I didn't post that Marty was going anywhere. Steve Stewart is the one "rounding 3rd and heading for home." I'm pretty sure Marty is safe. :thumb: :jump:
