Why would you try and compare a young man who is 31 for 34 on PAT to a guy among the National leaders in Field Goals and regarded by nearly everyone as the best kicker in the state...and among the best ever? Where you compared the scrimmage? No, I forgot, that was dismissed. Where you compared common opponents? No, that wouldn't look good for you either. Where you compared the number of Top 10 teams in your class you've beaten in the Playoffs? No, that wouldn't be very impressive. Help me out, where did you back up this opinion that no one in NKY is close to Ryle this year?

As an outsider I'll say this: Vince Murray is a beast. An absolute warrior. Better college prospect than Sam Flynn at CCH due to speed. Whether or not he's better than Sam in H.S. is highly debatable, but a better college prospect at LB. Vince is legit. However, that won't be nearly enough, even with Scottie, against the 'Rocks.

Fine Diamond Dandy, throw the scrimmage out. Take a look at games between common opponents. What measuring stick do you want to use? Ryle has had a nice season and is benefiting greatly from the new 4A format. If it was the same as last year Ryle would have been done in week #2. Ryle hasn't beaten 1 Top 10 team in the playoffs. Think about that for a second. They managed to get to the State Finals without beating one team ranked in the Top 10. That's amazing. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to death that a local school is playing for the "big school" title in Louisville. However, I'm not sure why you feel the need to unneccesarily run down another team to try and prop yourselves up.

I love Jordan Kramer, but I'm not sure he'd be above Ben Revere on my ballot.

Trust me, while I'm not involved in the "game-planning" (luckily for CCH), I'm fairly sure the Coaches are aware of all of the weapons that BG possesses. I just hope they are as intent as abandoning Hibbitt as you make it appear. I just have a hunch we're going to see a steady dose of Hibbitt between the tackles, and believe, I hope I'm wrong and you guys drop back and wing it all over the yard. Nothing would make me happier.

I'm not implying that they are one-dimensional, but when your best player (by a long margin) is Avery Hibbitt, and your stud o-lineman is Stuart Hines, you tend to feed what works. I'm not implying they are still running their 3 back set, but I can ASSURE you, if you don't get Hibbitt off you have no shot on Friday night. Are you telling me he won't carry the mail 25 times or more on Friday? Okay.

No knock on Nick Petrino, but should he really finish ahead of Anderson, Ammons, Minnifield and Revere? I understand fully that he is a HUGE part of the (probably) best team in the state, but those young men seem to be much better all-around football players. I agree with TheDeuce however, Beaumont wins the award.

Bowling Green prefers to run the ball. While CovCath can run the ball very well, we tend to set it up off of the pass. Freezing cold (in the low 20's) with a swirling wind and snow flurries may make that tough to do. Hopefully the wind stays down and Josh, Peter, and Bo can keep doing what they've been doing. Relax bro, I'm rooting for the same team you are.

Again, I was there, thanks. We'll see what kind of factor it is; obviously, I hope you are right and it doesn't slow down the passing attack. Bowling Green will need it's best defensive effort of the year, including the bally-hoo'd St. Xavier game. I'm not sure anyone is convinced that St. X is better than CovCath right now.

I would love to have seen the winner of this game (CCH?) against Trinity this year. If Bowling Green comes out of this game with a win they will have flat-out earned it -- I'll leave it at that. The forecast for Friday night, however, may play into BG's hands. Freezing cold with snow flurries.

Ryle should be VERY proud to have made it to their first State Finals, but being realistic, this is a HUGE challenge for the game bunch from Union. Leave it all out on the field and you'll have nothing to be ashamed of. That being said, while my heart will be rooting for the Raiders, my head says: Trinity by 24-29. This game won't be as hard for them as Male or Henry Clay, or as the "X" game would have been.

First and foremost, I'm glad our prayers for Grim were answered. I was busy calling LRCW every 15 minutes on the way home for updates (from BGP) about whether or not he was up. That is great news. Frankly, in the grand scheme of things, nothing else matters. Awesome environment. We arrived by car at 5:00 and the stands were 80% filled by JC fans. 2 and a half hours before kickoff. Unreal. Everyone was so nice -- thanks to UnderArmour for picking up our tickets for us. It was nice to meet you...you were a great host. As far as comparing Grim and Kramer, Grim is more of a north / south runner, and while fast, not as elusive as Kramer. To give you a sense, Kramer is to Barry Sanders as Grim is to Emmitt Smith. I hope that makes sense. #48, the "...long black train...," was a horse. What a solid high school player. Kudos to the JC Coaching staff for not putting this young man back in when he was politic-ing to re-enter. The coaches were wise not to jeopardize his career. Love the use of songs by the JC staff...great touch. I happen to like that song too, so that helps. I respect the JC coaches for sticking to their guns by playing man-to-man, but that wasn't going to work. I'm sure they felt like they'd stay with the girl that brought them, but it allowed our TE to get deep for a beautiful "Jeff Blake-ish" deep ball from Josh (great throw young man). The drive down wasn't bad at all. Special shout out to the young ladies in Salyerville at the Long John's...you gals are a hoot. You can't beat fish and chicken before a big game. Good sweet tea as well. LRCW, it was, as always, good to see you. Sorry we couldn't catch up longer. Theoldguy, it was nice to meet you finally. Both teams played hard, the atmosphere was electric, the school does a great job hosting a big-time football game, and Congrats to the Golden Eagles on a great year!!!

Leatherneck, for the 1,387th time -- you are a class act. :thumb: Sam Flynn is a good kid, with a great motor, who played an exceptional game last night. It's hard to compare better with two entirely different schemes, but #45 for the Eagles, Tackett?, is quite good as well. One difference, when Flynn pops someone he helps them up, when Tackett does he looks up to the crowd for acceptance. Not being critical, heck I'm an emotional guy as well, just stating a difference.
