He had a fracture of the small bone in his lower leg (can't remember which is the tibia or the fibula). He will be fine. I saw him today and he is getting around quite well on crutches.

Just back from Trinity. Coach Beatty made it clear that he no intention of leaving Trinity and the work to claim title #18 is set to begin. Good luck Coach and I was glad you cleared that up.

I have enjoyed many X games at Historic Manual Stadium over the years. I'll miss the pre-game at Checks but I'm sure the new place will be first class.

I think 4 team districts and tight travel budgets are forcing many to rethink their attitudes.

I think the Rocks started 9 underclassmen this season (with several being sophmores). That is about as young as I can recall.

I hope the Rocks have an open date that matches up with a "home" game for X. I'd love to come over and check out the new place. I'm also thinking that the JV and frosh T/X games will be played at X this year as well.

To Westsider and GR8BigBull, You are wrong. What Beatty has done at Trinity has never been done at Trinity. Is there a coach out there that could have similar success if given the chance at Trinity? We may never know. But I'm sure its not a case of just plugging in any Tom, Dick or Harry (or Mike or Joe for that matter) and the program runs its self. Every year there are teams around the state that have superior talent (at least according to the experts) yet when the dust settles the trophy has been handed over to the Shamrocks head man. I am proud that Trinity has the distinction of being the best football program in the state, its only fitting that we have the best coach. Don't ever believe otherwise.

They are a big deal with the champs now days. But past champions from Trinity in the early years didn't celebrate with rings. Rings started sometime during the Lampley era for Trinity. To each his own. I'll admit, most kids that I know with them wear them only a few times a year.

I don't know that he did. But if he did, he is worth every penny. He is the best coach in Jefferson County year in and year out by far. But you already knew that.

The rings are custom ordered and made for each player (providing someone pays for one). They are sized to fit etc. I'm sure a delivery date will be discussed during that process.

If you go back and read all of the posts leading up to that comment you will see a bunch of would have, should have and could haves. I'm not buying and its not fair to the opponenets that defeated these teams on the field of play. Believe me, I had family members on both of those teams and suffered as much as anyone over those losses (heck my feet just got the feeling back after sitting through that 2000 game). But no, the subject was started comparing these title winning team and should be limited to them. Sorry if my meaning wasn't clear.

It seems to work in other states. I think some of the schools in Indy have over 3,500 students.

You laugh but when I lived in another state they actually did split my son's grade school team in basketball due to their team being "too successful". Two years later St. Micheal's green team defeated St. Micheal's white team in the city championship. I guess you can't keep good boys down.

Well yes and no. Yes William did break his collar bone. The opposite side as last year. He is expected to recover fully. I hear he will be throwing a baseball in a couple of weeks. He is also planning on taking over the QB duties for the Rocks next year. As football injuries go, while painful, a collar bone has a pretty high percentage of fully healing. So I would say no to the prospect of William's quarterbacking days being over as a Trinity Shamrock. Speedy recovery Stein, we need you to help deliver #18 to St. Matthews.

I don't think the intent is to totally remove the rivalry. Woody always called Michigan "that school up north". I think some remarks while snide, are OK.

Maybe we will give Bobby Petrino a try. I think William will be fine.
