Believe I called a blowout in the prediction thread

Tried to tell you guys...

Danville BIG! Danville laid the woodshed to Larue, and Anderson in their scrimmage. I think Danville will surprise some people this year.

Seems like all summer long we heard about how potent Scott's O would be. And they didn't put a single point up against NCC. Kind of concerning if I'm Scott. I think this game means more for Scott then it does for Dixie.

Will be a walk in the park for Boyle. Didn't one of Bell Co.'s better players transfer to Boyle this summer?

Hate to hear that for Robinson, hopefully he's available for Basketball season. Big loss for a small school. Big Win for Paris in terms of a program, but this isn't the Frankfort teams from years past. I think Paris' schedule will hurt them, probably in the easiest district in 1A, and have to go up against Paintsville, Raceland, or Fairview in the 2nd rd. They don't have those horses.

There's my point, (btw I respect you more than anyone else on this board) but you said they'll get probably there best look against their JV team? In a Varsity game...JC has no problem driving 8 hours for a game in VA, but can't drive to the other side of the state, or Central Ky?

JC would beat those teams handily without playing Oscar Smith correct? Like I stated, if JC plays them within 2 TDs, then it was worthwhile. If they get blown out...how do you apply a blowout, to those games? "Yeah you see how that WR blew by you? You won't have to worry about anyone that fast the rest of the year..." Its a long time between Week 3 and Week 15, if you're not playing Oscar Smith again, you're not gonna learn anything from the first game. Take for Example the Paintsville/Pikeville games last year, early in the season Paintsville gets smoked, have film and they can prep differently that week for how they're gonna play Pikeville. How is Oscar Smith film gonna help Johnson Central come playoff time?

So who does JC apply that to? Harlan Co.? Do they have team speed like Oscar Smith? No Rowan?East Carter? Boyd? Greenup? Ashland Blazer has Baker? But they should steam roll them. Belfry will sit there guys out before playoffs. So what does JC really get out of this game if they don't keep it close?

If they get blown out, its no different then JC blowing out Heath, you don't really get better. If JC can keep it within two touchdowns then yes, it'd be beneficial.

Hypothetically let's say JC has a pretty rough time and gets blown out, how's this help them? There is no other team in 4A that compares to this team.

Last Years Oscar Smith team featured Josh Sweat, Top 10 Player in the Nation, FSU signee Jadeveon Clowney esque FREAK! This team is no joke, multiple big time D1 guys.

Well if you put it that way, you could say the same for all non-district games too.

Why has Henry Clay become content with Sam Simpson? There are some coaches that would blow the doors off that job, does nothing with his talent.

Haha, there's a facepalm. For some reason I thought he focused on basketball his senior year. I guess I can take your word for it Crazy he never gets brought up amongst football conversations. Had a pretty good QB throwing to him too

Mercer plays 3 very good football teams in their first 4 games. They could easily be .500 by the end of the season. I'm 100% positive Buchanan knows how to handle football players, obviously. Look at Lofton and Miller, great football players,but their careers ended after their Jr. Year because they wanted to focus on Bball. Malik is a great athlete, and Mercer Co. Has title aspirations these next 2 years in basketball. I find it hard to believe his head will be 100% in football come October.

I'm not saying he'll quit, but there is a lot of excitement this year with the Bball team. If Mercer Co. is at .500 he'll mentally check out.

After Oct 8? Or whenever basketball season starts you can consider Malik Dow a non factor

I think Coach J is top notch, pro active coach, who genuinely cares about the kids and the program. Great to see them reach Semi's last year. I've visited Ballard a couple times and it's crazy to notice how nice their Gym is(obviously) but the weight room and Football field were kind of disheartening for a big city 6A program. Hopefully Devante Parker will be able to throw some loose change their way in a few years

How many 1A, 2A have Freshman teams? I don't really think this is a big deal as people are making it out to be

If you make all JV and Freshman games 6 minutes Quarters, you won't have a problem
