First, you big wuss! :-) Maybe it was the cold, but when NCC got the BW fumble on their own 40 late in 2nd quarter with 3 time outs I thought they had plenty of time to score. They mismanaged the clock and took all 3 timeouts to the lockeroom. Then coming out to start the 3rd they drove to the BW 40 and fumbled on 3rd down. They were in the game!!! BW scored 2 plays later to make it 27-13. Even if NCC doesn't convert on the fumbled 3rd down they would have either gone for in on 4th or possibly pinned BW deep in their own territory. The game was still in play then.

Bit surprised, congrats Frankfort.

Can't believe they dodged Beechwood earlier in the year!

Very impressed with Smith. Not only the moves but the speed also! It was early in the 4th after the Beechwood FG when Burns tracked him down. That play started on the NCC 15, Burns tackled him on the BW 29. If Smith scores it would have been 30-20 with around 10 minutes left in the game. NCC seemed to do better when they went to the outside running game. Beechwood needs to tackle better. To much reaching to make tackles. How is the NCC kid that got hurt 4th?

Maybe that is why he wan't healthy!

I've seen AP polls that show the papers that vote. There are a lot from the extreme east and west of the state. Not sure anyone in NKY votes anymore.

You are correct. I think he only came up for the playoffs. Back then there were only 3 games including state championship. Not sure if he even kicked off in any of the games. It was a long time ago, but I think the regular kickoff guy might have had a minor knee injury. He could play, but kicking off wasn't a good idea. Possibly Quinlan??

At first blush Dixie appears to have the tougher schedule. Both have 1 loss.

Gary Nussbaum was a pretty good safety too! Probably the first player to ever move up and play varsity as a freshman during the 1974 season.

I never said "if no returns". I was pointing out that Dixie got away from what they do best when the really didn't need to. The Dixie coaching realized that and they have stayed run first with excellent results ever since!

Dixie is a different team now than vs Cov Cath. As stated by Voice of Reason, when Dixie got behind because of the punt returns they went to the pass. If they would have stayed with the run it could/would have been a different game. Your ranking is based on what you have done over the last several weeks. We really don't know where Cov Cath is right now until they start playing better teams with the players back.
