Why did Highlands cancel their JV game against Scott County?

Featured Replies

Last year Highlands fans blasted CovCath for canceling a JV game against Highlands. Now this year Highlands does the same to Scott County. Whats up with that Highlands?

The Freshman team is so bad that they decided an intrasquad scrimmage with them was the best thing for the program.

I think the real question is why are you so obsessed with Highlands?

Cause FTH has a trophy case full of state championship trophies and they want to have a piece of the pie.

Not obsessed at all. They bashed CovCath for canceling a game last year and now they do the same thing. In another thread they said it was because of injuries and the 5 hour road trip to play Warren Central. Highlands has over 100 kids on their roster and Charter busses. I am glad Scott County found another team to play.

Who bashed and who said it was because of injuries? And why does anyone outside of SC and HHS even care about this topic?

Again the kids won't get back until 3am from BG. Also I believe the JV qb is hurt. I don't think he played against Elder last week either.

There is goes my "with a sprit that will not play" line right down the toilet. :D

So out of 120 kids they only have 2 qbs?

If Highlands has injuries that means more playing time for kids who never get playing time. Doesn't Highlands believe in developing players? Why schedule the game if you know you play Warren Central the day before?

You're right, a few HHS did take CCH to task. If I'm not mistaken, and if I am I will be corrected, but didn't the flack come about because CCH cancelled twice and then ended up playing a game on one of the cancelled dates?

I am not pleased the game was cancelled, if it has been. There was a post that the game was scheduled later. If it was cancelled I think it should have been played, just move it back so those guys getting in after 3am have time to rest and bring up the freshman to fill in for anyone injured. You can't play enough JV games.

You actually have a good point about the scheduling. Injuries aside, a lot of the varsity number twos would be starting a jv game and with the return trip involved this Scott Co. game doesn't make much sense.

Just want to clear something up. It's ok for Highlands to cancel since 1 of the reasons is their qb is hurt. However, it's a joke for CCH to cancel last year due to injuries?

Was the varsity game not scheduled when they agreed to the Jv? Honest question , I have no clue.
