Here all this time I thought Highlands always bragged how they develop football players. I guess Highlands only plays 60 kids on 100 plus roster?

So out of 120 kids they only have 2 qbs?

 

If Highlands has injuries that means more playing time for kids who never get playing time. Doesn't Highlands believe in developing players? Why schedule the game if you know you play Warren Central the day before?

Canceling a JV game is pretty unfair to those kids that never get playing time.

No clue as to the reason the JV game was cancelled. I'm sure if I check the old thread about CCH canceling I was not happy with their decision to do so.

 

JV QB hurt would not be a valid reason. You either bring up your FROSH QB or you take a RB/WR/DB and teach him 5 plays to run.

 

Again, could be 100% valid reasons for the Birds to cancel. Their history says they take their JV games seriously. I just hate for a JV kid to not get a game in.

The birds must have been considering the Friday game in western KY as the game was scheduled for 12noon instead of the normal 10am on their website.

Was the "long bus trip" just scheduled this week? That is where I don't buy the "long bus trip on Friday night", that trip has been planned for a long time, but only now it's being used as why they have to cancel the JV game?

Not obsessed at all but I clearly remember CovCath getting blasted last year like no other by Highlands fans. Only to see Highlands cancel a game. Pretty sad I feel bad for the kids that stand on the sidelines that never get to play. Highlands has 100 plus kids 20 or 30 of them could of stayed in Fort Thomas and played Saturday instead of take a long trip across Kentucky to stand on the sideline. I hope those boys stand on the side line with helmets off and their bright neon socks!

He is actually making a good point and standing up for CovCath that took so much crap from the Birds last season. Cant have it both ways HHS. Best thread of the week and not one rule even close to being broken, granted I am sure it will get closed

I personally feel bad for the jv kids from both schools who work just as hard as the varsity starters. Im sure both teams looked forward to playing each other. 2 top programs with lots of respect on the field from many. Keep your head up jv kids your day may still come

I actually think EVERY contract between ALL teams should have a provision that if a team backs out (unless for an extreme situation like death of a player or contagious virus striking a school - weird stuff like that), they should have to pay the other school. I actually some of the contracts did have a provision like that but I am not sure.

The only thing I see, Mr. "Not obsessed at all", that is really different, is CovCath cancelled TWICE vs Highlands while not canceling other opponents. If ou notice, the thread has TAKE TWO in it. I don't remember he first cancellation being tht big of a deal.
