Just want to clear something up. It's ok for Highlands to cancel since 1 of the reasons is their qb is hurt. However, it's a joke for CCH to cancel last year due to injuries?

Thank you for posting that thread. A lot of Highlands people ripped CovCath in that thread.

I won't defend Highands, because I honestly don't know the circumstances. I think the thing what made the Cov. Cath cancellations so uhhhh.... interesting.... (if that is the right word) was that they cancelled with Highlands, then played (I believe Beechwood), and then cancelled with Highlands. It was almost like they didn't want to play Highlands or something. This is all from memory, so please correct me if I am wrong. Contrary to others elevated opinion of Scott County, I dont' get the sense in Ft. Thomas that anyone fears Scott County. Ft. Thomasites don't have much fear of teams that are afraid to play us in varsity football. :banana:

I know a football team that lost all of their equipment in a fire and still managed to play their Freshman, varsity and JV games.

Yeah, I think they cancelled with Highlands the day of another scheduled JV game, and then may have also played another game the week after the scheduled Highlands game. It was very interesting/suspicious.

 

I just had to point out a post in which an opponent was ripped for stating injuries was the reason for cancellation, but then it's OK when your team is using that same excuse.

I have zero clue to why they are not playing. I just threw out there the qb injury and the time the kids will be getting home. That's MY GUESS!!

Now don't classify Scott Co in that mix like SK. Scott Co played the birds in 2012 and lost handily but it prepared them to take on the #1 team in the nation and lost 21-14. The Scott Co. JV played Highlands at Highlands last year and won fairly easy and since they are playing next year and the year after I don't think anyone is trying to avoid anyone. It would have been nice to see a JV as a measuring stick for next year. I am just going on what I have been told and nothing more. I am glad the Scott Co. kids get to play another game. They have been cancelled on 3 times this year.

Just too bad the fire did not take place right after the Dixie game. You could have roasted that crow.

Carlos, what have you "been told"? I still don't know WHY the game was canceled. Does anyone have knowledge of why? And I don't mean speculation. I made my thoughts known in another thread that if the game was canceled by HHS, I don't like it at all (much to the chagrin of some other HHS fans), but I still don't know why it was canceled or that it has been officially canceled.

I was told that they had too many injuries at all levels and that they had a long bus trip on Friday night.

Canceling a JV game is pretty unfair to those kids that never get playing time.

I agree.

I heard it was because the Birds lack discipline/tradition! :sssh:
