Getting pressure on the qb and disguising the defense will be key for Cov Cath. But it's Cov Cath/Highlands so you know CCH is due for a couple unforced turnover.

CCH was pretty sloppy at times. Had a couple balls that hit the receivers hands that ended up being intercepted. But they had to much for Grant to make this a close game. Grant County had a few nice players but a lot of them never came off the field. I thought #12 was a pretty good player. More of an athlete being asked to play qb it seems. But looked to play hard, never really coming off the field as he also played safety.

Grant County is better than they were a few years ago and seem to be heading in the right direction. But I would be surprised if they do not get 4th place in the district. Hopefully both teams can build off of the game.

Yes, the district is up for grabs. But it is not a four team race. Grant County loses this one big unless Cov Cath has four or five unforced turnovers which I highly doubt will happen. Grant County has never won a district game will with CCH, Highlands, and Dixie. They will lose big to both CCH and Highlands. I'd say the Dixie game is up for grabs but I'll go with Dixie over Grant by a few scores.

I get that. But Dixie is something like 7-37 against CCH lifetime and graduated a huge portion of last years starters. But is it true that Dixie doesn't have enough for a freshman team this year? I thought I saw someone say that on here. I have no clue what they have in the pipe line but that doesn't bode well for them in the future. But I guess that could be a topic for a different thread.

Tough schedule no doubt. But why are people so big on Dixie? Can Dixie beat Cov Cath? Absolutely. But not showing up against Cov Cath is what Dixie does. They got smoked by the Blue Colonels last year.

From what I saw, the banners were pretty harmless. A student took a picture of the banners then added a bad word in a snapchat and probably sent it to a friend who went to ryle. As snapchats auto delete unless you screen shot them. I didn't see any bad words actually on the banners. But there could have been pictures I didn't see. Also, apparently a ryle student section Twitter account made a joke referencing cov cath and child abuse. Guess what. Neither are a big deal and neither of those things make those kids bad. They are teenagers and it has been pretty harmless from what I've seen. Hope it's a great game.

Before 85', CCH had a C on the helmet with a Colonel head in it. But I agree.

I think that would actually look pretty sharp. It is just to much like the middle school helmet though.

I mean it isn't bad, the old was just much much better. I would really like to know who gave the final word to have the helmet changed. What is worse is the old logo was designed by a student. The first year CCH used the shooting star colonel was in 1985 and the Colonels went 10-0 eventually losing in the playoffs. I'll just hold on to the hope that they will change back after a year or two. The shooting star colonel used to be a big logo for CCH. Years ago every student would get a magnet of the logo for their cars at the start of the school year.

What's Cov Cath's starting lineup look like?

Should be noted that the 08 team got beat pretty badly by NewCath. SK had extremely weak out of district schedules in the early 2000s.

Cov Cath's enrollment will probably be over 600 boys next year. 5A is where they should be enrollment wise. Even if their enrollment was still below 500, they would still probably prefer 5A. As for the Cooper/Conner question. I think its logistics logistics logistics.

Was told Cov Cath sent mainly JV guys. Was this a JV only meet or did other teams send their varsity?

About 20 years ago, X, Elder, LaSalle, and Moeller were all on a very level playing field enrollment and money wise I have been told. But due to changing demographics in the west side of the county ( LaSalle and Elder areas), many traditional LaSalle and Elder families started sending their kids to St. X. On a side note, I have a few friends who are St. X alumni. I asked one of them why the basketball team isn't a traditional power as the other sports seem to be, his answer "We don't care about basketball".

Another huge issue with moving the season up, is when would tryouts be? Late January?

Apparently the LaSalle coach was in the running too but told St. X no thanks.

I also think that everyone playing a zone against Cov Cath for the past month has really prepared them.

I wasn't at the game, but I saw a few pictures of the Cov Cath student section. Last year, they were able to have the back half of the student section come fill the whole lower section. So they had a shorter wider section instead of a long and narrow section as seen in the picture. When it is long and narrow it is hard to communicate through out the section. Not sure what the Camel student section looked like.

If Highlands were plugged into the NKY 6A district last year, I really think they wouldn't have had a game within 14 points until they made it to the finals.

Random Question. Does anyone know what year Campbell County moved from the 9th to the 10th? Good season Camels. Back to Back regional championships is something to be proud of.
