Listened to the game on my drive. Congrats HHS. Cov Cath is snake bit when it comes to HHS. Hope this doesn't run some the wrong way, but wow was that game just dreadful. Is CCH really that bad and what does that say about Beechwood?

KHSAA set up this monster by setting up the number of districts they have? They don't have to have the number of districts they have. They could have fewer district and actually allow Bye's for some #1 seeds..what a concept!! A bye!!!! NKY should have 1 6 team district and simply allow the top 4 teams to make the playoffs. Similar districts could be set up in areas that may not have at least 4 to 5 teams.

I set the DVR, will be on the road when this one is played. I guess I could have the wife use dish anywhere and watch it on the ipad while on the road

I'm curious. How good are the teams in Chuck Smith's district? I don't know and just am curious. Maybe there is a reason he is coaching where he is due to the competition level. I mean I don't think he walks on water like some do. Am I way off base here?

Big Rivalry and Televised Game on ch-64 next Saturday Who wins and why? This has been one of the better rivalries in NKY over the last 7 years. Conner was the one team that stopped Cooper's undefeated season on their way to the championship game in 2012 giving them their only L in the regular season that year. These two teams have always had close games no matter what the records have been. 2013 was a instant classic even though Cooper had a losing record that year while Conner was putting away teams by bunches. With Conner and their DI QB Drew Barker leading the way on another ch-64 televised game, the two teams battled back and forth the 2nd half as Cooper wiped out a double digit lead by Conner to take the lead with just over a min left in the game when Ludwig hooked up with Fussinger for Cooper in the endzone to give Cooper a 1 pt lead only to watch that lead dissapear with less than a minute left when Barker had another come from behind TD pass to put Conner up. Cooper with under 30 secs left drove back down field with a diving catch on a pass from Ludwig to Fussinger to put the Jag's on the 12 yard line and set to score the winning TD when the next play ended the game with an INT in the endzone. Great games these two teams have played over the years and always with the district title at stake. While these 2 teams were in 5A over the last 4 years, Cooper has won or tied with Conner the District championship 3 times. These two teams are now set once again to play for the district title in their first year after moving up to 6A. This game is always something special. 2 great teams with an even better rivalry. Throw the records out the window folks, this will be a game of back and forth and may the best team win!

Is Scott County building another High School? I thought I heard that a little while back. If that is the case, how will it affect Scott Co?

Good question. I'd like to know also. Maybe a PAT is considered a dead ball foul since as soon as the ball is kicked the play is blown dead by the officials, so that may be the reason. Good question Fletch. I see it as being dead ball foul because like I said as soon as the ball is kicked the ref blows the whistle to end contact and if the kicker is run into AFTER the ball is kicked and NOT blocked, then the play is over.

Well thankfully for District 5 or is it 6? I don't remember, but anyway Campbell and Boone play eachother so at least one of them won't be winless

What time is the game? I thought about going but I have to drive to Wooster OH around noon. So the big question is, how long will the crazies stay at the game? Will Skyline be full at halftime or will they actually stay for the entire game this time?

I know that Conner defensive coaches were scouting the Cooper/Ryle game the week before and I bet they thought they could play the same way Cooper did against Ryle and only rush 3 and play a 3-4 type defense. Cooper pretty much shut down the Ryle running game and Conner probably thought they could do the same, the problem is Conner's D-Line isn't as good as Cooper's and dropping 8 into coverage hurt them up front. It's good to scout and see how a team is successful against another team, but you also have to have close to the same talent to do so.

This one won't be close. Ryle Has struggled against teams with a winning record. This game SK names the score. I say 47-21.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how it worked. I still wish we had 1 6 team district up here. What is still screwed up is the fact that the 2 Louisville teams coming up north as the 4 seeds in both districts are still probably going to be better than the 2 and 3 seed on SK's side.

Well then if I were a Ryle fan I would want to be in Coopers side of the bracket only because of the unknowing of what SK has. Ryle already knows what Cooper will bring to the game. So it's easier to prepare against something you are familiar with than not familiar with. with that said, don't they stay on in Coopers and Conners side of the bracket anyway up until regionals? If Ryle finishes 3rd then they would play the 2 seed who would be Conner if Cooper beats Conner. IF Ryle is the 2 seed then they would play whoever the 3 seed is in their district I thought. I could be totally wrong though.
