Great post. That's what I wondered too when some Ryle fans were blaming the play calling when Ryle would go to the air. Ryle only moved the ball when they started throwing the ball against Cooper in the 2nd half. Yes it wasn't all that successful but a lot more than their running game. It's happened in several games. They have a good running game, but their 3 or 4 headed monster isn't better than other teams running games they are playing against all the time. The better the defense the more they struggle in the ground like you said. Ryle can't make a deep playoff run if they don't pass the ball.

That is true, but CCH has a knack at getting some pretty talented players. He should have some weapons around him the next couple years I would hope.

True, but going into this year there was a lot of talk about how good the WR Corp was and howntheynwould platoon them again. Hergott has the size and arm strength needed IMO. Just not the accuracy downfield is all. What he needs is a running game behind him to open things up downfield. That has been the biggest problem in my opinion this year for Highlands. It all starts up front and when that doesn't work then weaknesses are exposed and I think your QB position is a weakness this year.

I was making a point that if he was that great of a coach then why hasn't he won state every year? Apparently this past Friday Night wasn't the only time the great Chuck Smith has been "out coached"

I know you're not saying they would beat Cooper. But your buddy seems to forget that Nathan Brown had his very first start against Highlands and he has only improved even more since that first game. I would take N Brown over mr DI QB everyday of the week and twice on Friday Nights. Talk about improvement. Brown has improved a ton over the course of the season and he was already better than Hergott to begin with.

If they meet Pulaski they will get crushed. If they make it that far but according to you they will make it even farther. Pulaski will crush them.

Not even close. I was right however. I did predict that once HHS hit the easy part of their schedule (district play) their fan base would get an over inflated view of their team and start claiming how they are among the favorites to win state. The team I watched yesterday would get pounded even worse by Cooper if they played today. You see, something you overlook is the fact that Cooper has gotten even better as the season went on than they were when they schooled Highlands in the first week. Ryle would also destroy Highlands for a second time this year. You have a QB who Can't complete a pass downfield and you'd be going against the best rush defense in Cooper in the area. It would be ugly if they played again. Don't exaggerate, it will only make you look foolish when they get crushed in the playoffs when they meet an avg team.

It's good. I was just saying I don't know why they chose UK nor does anyone else Outside their family I would Bet. They were apparently good enough to play DI football in the SEC so they couldn't have been that bad to begin with before they even got to UK. You do understand no one has said he isn't a good coach. Some just may not give the actual players the credit that they deserve.

Why? Not as if they were favorites to win the title this year. Not by anyone who knew anything about the top of the 5A teams This year.

I don't know why they chose UK. Why did Barker choose UK or why did others choose UK? Could it have been they were big UK fans or maybe seeing the chance to get playing time sooner? There are a lot of reasons why players choose schools over other schools. UK also puts players into the NFL, it's not like they are Dayton.

Schedules are made usually in 2 year contracts. Does this mean CCH has another tough schedule next year? Is it worth it? You would think for those that believe tough schedules get you ready for the games you need to win, but this years tough schedule didn't prepare them for this years Highlands team. How do CCH fans feel about the schedule?

Ok, What exactly would you call them? Sorry if it is against BGP code of ethics to ever call either of these two teams anything other than good. But the same people who say they aren't bad are also the same ones who have quashed any talk when people said Brossart or Scott were good. Just because of history doesn't mean they can't have down years. I would think even those unbiased fans would admit this year may be among some of the worst in teams history.

I think too many people make This a given. It's tough to automatically think 2 bad teams will automatically make it to round 3 of the playoffs. It very well could happen but it is a for gone conclusion with many on here. If the game yesterday showed anything it showed that if any opponent they play have an ounce of offense then it will be tough for these two teams to make it to round 3.

I agree and that is why I'm throwing Randy Botchers into the ring. He has done nothing but won district titles 3 out of the last 4 years in 5A and 2 regional titles along with state title game in schools first 7 years of existence and then this year being ridiculed by some for moving up to 6A and in the most competitive 6A district in NKY he is in the verge of winning the district title in his first year in 6A after moving up from 5A. The guy just wins. He is class personified.

If this game is close Then SK better start worrying because there is no way they give any of the big 3 or Scott Co a game if they can't put this one away early.

I understand what you are saying but it was just the opposite in their first loss of the year. I think they stayed with the run against a great run defense much too long and that may have cost them any chance of winning that game. They didn't start scoring until they put the ball in Morgan's hands and arm.

K Padgett may be the best kept secret in NKY. The kid can flat out ball.

Not a chance they stop SK's run game. Their front 7 isn't that great.
