Saturday at 7pm. Ch-64 will be televising the game just as they did last week with the Highlands Cov Cath game.

I was having a conversation this morning with a dad of a Ryle senior and player. We wondered why Ryle with the number of athletes they have, why they don't have them on the field at the same time all of the time? For instance, and this conversation is old to some, but Chisolm is the fastest of the running backs and England is the biggest of the RB's and last game they moved England out to the slot a couple times against Conner and he was able to do some damage catching passes. This gentlemen also said their best athlete plays TE and wondered why they didn't use him on defense also where he would be pretty good there also. So why not have England and Chisolm on the field along with Batemen at the same time and use England as a slot receiver or TE and allow the other RB's in the backfield together instead of the platooning of RB's. Just a couple things that some Ryle folks have wondered about and I would have to agree with some of it. Why not have your best players on the field at the same time?

Why hasn't Engler been criticised all year leading up to the Cooper game? All I heard was people singing his praises and signing the offenses praises while Ryle was undefeated and then as soon as they played a team better than them and lost everyone comes out of the woodwork talking about how bad Engler is at play calling. For some reason I'm having flashbacks of the Bryson days. When the team wins he was the best thing since sliced bread but when they lose the union mafia wants his head on a platter.

Sorry, but I don't keep track of kickers every week, Highlands doesn't have the stats on Maxpreps and I have no idea where they are kept so I can only go off of what was said on TV was all. All I do know is he missed 2 FG's Saturday, so whether he was 50 for 50 going into Saturday or not doesn't really matter. Again, I'd take him out of anyone in NKY as a kicker anyway. Great leg. I'd rather use that leg on kickoffs and punts anyway.

I think UKFan was talking about what the announcers said during the game Sat. The announcers said something like HHS was 3 for 8? Or something like that for FG's with 2 misses Sat. I'd still take HHS kickers leg over anyone else in NKY

I can say that this year the officiating has seemed to be better in NKY than in years past

I'm just impressed with how many points GC is putting up this year. I know Dixie is down and all but in years past GC would be lucky to out up 10 Pts in district games.

Highlands takes this one with little to worry about. GC is improving but they just aren't there yet. Best of luck to the Birds!

I'm with you, and notice I wasn't the one who brought up the C team. Actually I never mentioned them in any of my posts again in here. Seems it's Highlands fans who seem to be infatuated with that other team.

Agreed, and that is what I was saying. All coaches are out-coached during their career and it shouldn't come as a surprise. Chuck is a great coach but he even gets out coached. It happens and it happens at every level.

I think the only way it could have affected the outcome was if it occured on 4th down and not an Xtra Pt. Looks like the final score was by more than 2 points. Now as far as the kid being told to go after the kicker, I highly doubt that was the case at all. It wouldn't make any sense. What good is going after the kicker going to do? Block the kick, yes that would be what they would try to do, but not to try and blick the kick and go after the kicker makes zero sense at all and wouldn't have much of an outcome on the game int he first place unless the kid had a great leg and wa a threat for FG's at 30+ yards.

I believe you are right. They already beat Dixie and CCH, Grant has lost it's 2 district games so far. Highlands has the district title and when they win this game it will convince at least 2 of their fans that they will win state this year. :sneaky:

So X only had 1 offensive TD? It sounds like Male will be fine. One bad game with 5 turnovers and they still win. Every team stumbles. It's how you answer that counts.

If Conner can throw the ball Successfully then I think they can have a shot at the W. Padgett is great at keeping plays alive with his feet, but I don't think he's faced a run defense as good as what he will see Sat. Cooper on the other hand needs to establish a good running game Sat to keep Conner's D honest. This is a great rivalry and the DVR is set.

Dale was pretty good at Highlands. I would use him to compare with. What makes us "Haters?" Simply because we aren't dumbfounded that someone actually may have out coached Chuck Smith? Guru posed a great question. Sorry if the answer that some give to the question is yes.
