I'm curious also. In that first half what offense looked good? I don't know what the numbers are but Ryle got all theirs on the first play of the game. Cooper got theirs in a couple passes and that was it. No offense in first half could move the ball. I think maybe just 3 first downs by both teams combined or something like that.

Defenses showed up. Offenses MIA. Cooper struggles without TCA who went out in first series. Cooper d-line stuffed Ryles run attack so far. Both defenses winning. I felt Cooper had to have the lead at half to win. I still feel that way. Hope I'm wrong.

I wish someone could post the hit D Hendrix laid on the Lex Cath Receiver to jar the ball lose. The hit was so hard it knocked Hendrix out for the game for a bit.

What makes you think that? There has never been more than 1 or 2 teams ever in the conversation of 6A in this area, now there are 4 6A teams that have 2 or less losses going into week 8 of the season. Beechwood is doing what it needs to do to get back on top in 1A in the state. NCC is doing what it does every year, play bigger schools and they put up several L's until they hit district play and prepares them for the Post season with a lot of deep runs. This year there are a lot of good competition going on in this area, more than usual. In the past you had Highlands and that was about it or you could toss in a NCC. Or in recent years toss in Cooper for 5A, but this year there are more good teams than usual up here. Lets not forget about Scott either in 4A, they can make some noise too. NKY has never had this many good teams imo.

just needed a couple more teams to add to the mix haha. Although some still think Cooper and Conner should have stayed in 5A, I love how old rivalries are now even bigger because they are now in the same class and same district. This can only be good for the Cooper/Ryle rivalry and conner and Cooper alreayd had a great one and now all 4 Boone public HS's in the same class can only make it more interesting in years to come.

The asst coach needs to step away from the game if he reacts like this when his son is involved. Their wasn't anything malicious in the tweet at all and it simply explained what happened. If the coach gets that upset over something so stupid then he really needs to step away from coaching. Shoot, my son was taking the place of the long snapper on his college team because the regular long snapper was hurt and wasn't going to be back for 4 weeks (this week he is finally back YAY!) My son hated long snapping because he never did it before. He had about 15 snaps in the 4 week period with a couple that were low but the punter still got the kick off, but last week he launched one over the punters head and out of the endzone which resulted in a safety, no one was upset about it. It's part of the game. So if this coach has a problem with a reporter reporting what has occured in a game then he needs to find a new hobby.

After Conner's victory last night against Campbell County it has set up a really competitive district in 6A and the other 6A district is in shambles. Looking at the 2 districts it makes the upcoming district games pretty exciting starting tonight. The 2 6A districts are as follows 6A district 5 Ryle 6-0 Conner 6-1 Cooper 5-2 Overall records for District 5 17-3 6A district 6 Simon Kenton 6-0 Campbell Co. 0-6 Boone Co. 0-6 Overall records for District 6 6-12 District 5 teams clearly have one of the most competitive districts in the area and these district games should be pretty exciting. Conner I think has flown under the radar and after their big win last night should open some eyes. Not who they beat, but the way they beat them. Padgett is really coming into his own as their QB and could give some teams some real issues.

Conner is really doing a good job at flying under the radar. The 6A district they are in is really really good this year. I will be making a thread so not to take this thread off course but way to go Conner!!

I took care of that overnight

Today is the day that many Ryle fans have been waiting for. The day they've wanted since the first game of the 2014 season. It's the biggest game of the season for both teams. Union can play some football folks! 2 teams, the only 2 teams from the city of Union who both find themselves in the top 3 in all of NKY this year. There will be some chest thumping, some feelings hurt but most of all some great football in 12 hours from now. This time tomorrow there will be bragging rights to be had in the game thread, there will be excuses tossed here and there and I'm sure some questionable calls will be brought up. either way, it's High School football at it's best. I think the days of overlooking the other team is behind us. Ryle dissed Cooper in their pre game radio show before the season started back in 2012 and Cooper has never forgotten that. I think over the last 4 years they have learned that Cooper is a team that is to be reckoned with as they have won this battle 2 of the last 3 years. Ryle is standing on the threshold of an undefeated season and they will do whatever it takes to make sure their neighbor doesn't ruin that dream for them. This game is going to be a battle of the titans and may the best team win.

I know for a fact that some Head Coaches read this site. Now if they lost or not I don't know. I do know many Asst coaches post on here.

When I was in High school They used to have cheerleading camp at Miami of Ohio in the summer. A ton of high school Cheerleading squads would be there. My friend and I would always make a road trip to Oxford during that week. Even Cheerleaders get lonely during summer camp How I miss those Summers

I love soccer and I Think there is a huge difference in US women's soccer and US men's soccer. I've enjoyed the women's team Much more because of their passing abilities. I've always thought they were so much better than the men's team offensively.

I said 6 kids have rushed the ball for Cooper (that would be 5 others other than TCA) TCA has according to maxPreps 427 yards rushing of the 801 yards total rushing for Cooper That would leave close to 400 yards by the others. 2 of those players have negative yards rushing which means the 3 others make up the rest not including TCA's yards. J. Jackson alone has about 270 yards

Wow, I am getting old. Just seems like yesterday we were talking about a Freshman who came in to play QB in the post season for Beechwood and was lighting it up. How time flies when you have Alzheimer's.

Wow, your'e going back to the days I fell in love with HS football. the Bailey Morelidge days and even the Mike Yeagle days with Gary Nussbaum kicking. Loved the 70's BW Football teams even though they did't win any state titles, that was good old fashioned smack down football.

He is only a Jr this year right? He has only been a 2 year starter. He played Freshmaan ball until the Freshman season was over and then moved to starter for Varsity that year in the playoffs. So really last year was the first year he started a regular season game.
