IMO coaches should not have to teach if they are getting paid by the boosters. I know that the tax payers don't want to add anything else, so if the boosters can do it, let them do it. Far too often, people who don't coach or haven't coach don't see all of the things that go into coaching. Fundraising, taking care of the locker room, making sure all equipment is up to par. Plus, you know, actually preparing and coaching kids and the game. Far too often I have seen coaches who have had to teach all day then leave right after school to go mow the field before a game or practice. Then they have to get the field set up for the said event. Coaching is a full time event that, during the season can often end up being 7 days a week because coaches just don't have time to do the things that the need to do. This in turn takes away from time with family and a lot of the time is why you see coaches leaving to spend more time with family.

Dante has some of the most natural hands I have seen for a sophomore. To be honest, that entire Cooper receiver core should be pretty good. They only lost one starter from this past season and return Michaels, Jackson, Kuchar, and Halfhill. With having Cordell in the backfield too, some of these guys are going to make big plays off of play action.

No but for some reason they have given basketball priority in June which still makes no sense to me. Of course, a lot of the things the KHSAA does makes no sense.

I am extremely impressed at the way Ludlow baseball is playing. I have a sibling currently playing for Ludlow and the thing I am even more impressed with is the impact Coach Gray is making on the kids. W or L's, he's going about teaching them the right way to handle things in life, and that is a far more valuable lesson than how to field a ground ball.

Even doing individual drills without a helmet can get a kid hurt. Say a receiver goes up for a pass (with no one going against him) lands awkwardly, and hits his head on the ground, resulting in a concussion. How does practicing without a helmet make any sense at all. Not only that, but you also limit coaches on the type of drills they can do. You are basically eliminating any type of one on one drill (even of the non contact variety). Makes no sense. If they are going to limit the sport that much, have the kids show up two weeks before games start and throw them in full pads.

That is a good point and something to think about. It does take time for kids to really learn to win and get other kids to buy in and play, establishing depth.

And while I do agree that style of offense can be successful, the way I've seen Scott play over the years if a team gets up on them they cannot overcome score deficits. They try to go to s spread when they get down and they aren't able to throw to catch up. Throwing doesn't have to be the end all of their offense, but if you play a good team who can stop the run, you have to be able to throw. Just look at what happened against Cooper last year. I thought that was going to be a great game and once Cooper got up, Scott couldn't recover.

I don't see it happening for Scott. The offense they run won't allow it. Any team that gets up on them will have them beat. Until they develop the offense they won't make as much noise. I honestly see Bourbon taking the district with Scott finishing second. Playoffs, with John Hardin and JC, I don't see Scott competing for a state title.

Justin Earsing is a teacher/coach for Cooper. Not sure he can suit up.

They put the kids in front of a computer to learn physical education. That's the state of the education world we're in.

Cooper had to find a QB last year and they did. I don't worry with the coaching staff Cooper has in place. They'll find a QB who will get the job done. Also, having Cordell in the backfield will help whoever plays QB.

Yea that's what I was thinking. Majority of the team is returning. Looks like Cooper will once again have to fly under the radar and come out swinging. Definitely see them going 7-3 or 8-2. That defense will be one of the top defenses in NKY. If they can find a QB who can be smart with the ball, Cordell can have another monster year.

Growing up with Coach Scheid, baseball was always his thing. He'll get this program turned around and running the right way! I have nothing but faith in him.

Not sure on players but it should come down to them and Scott for the district.

He had the job two years ago. He turned it down to stay at TMC. I know that to be a fact.

Ben has been extremely loyal to Boone and is a guy with great character. Its not always about wins and losses. He's the kind of guy who teaches your kids to do things the right way. I'd definitely pull for him if he wanted and got the job.

Congrats to Jim on the job. Great guy and LaSalle will see continued success with the hire. Very happy for him.

I'd say Scott is looking at 4 wins and coming in 3rd in their district with Bourbon winning it.
