Wow sounds like a great game!! Any details on this one?

Heard Ludlow had a 5-2 lead going into Beechwood's last at bat... Talk about almost pulling off a huge upset. Hopefully the Panthers won't get too down on themselves.

Would love to hear some details on this one...

We all know Beechwood is loaded with good, young talent...

But I've been saying for awhile now, keep an eye on Slone, Lyons, Durham and Eads at Ludlow... All next level players IMO.

Who pitched for each team. Final score is not what most people would of guessed. Ludlow has been playing some strong baseball.

Combs started for Beechwood, followed by Huesman and closed with Stringer. #2 pitched the entire game for Ludlow. It was hard to hear the name but it may have been Eads.... sounded like "C". 2 kept them off balance for the entire game. The umpire was giving 3 balls outside on the right side of the plate and it helped 2 greatly. Beechwood pitchers were not getting to that spot. 2 also had a heck of a game at the plate.

Combs started, was dominant for 5 innings but ran out of gas and Ludlow got a couple off him and then a big bases loaded double off Huesman by the big first baseman. Stringer pitched a scoreless 7th for W. Was fun to see Clint had the radar gun on, kid topped at 89.

Eads for Ludlow was masterful, shows you dont have to throw hard to get HS kids out. Was throwing mostly in 50s, Tigers had about a million ground ball outs. Ludlow had it wrapped up, I watched last inning from fence down LF line as it was over, but a dropped fly ball opened the flood gates, then an overthrow on a double steal played the tying run. Was an awful beat for Panthers. If they play 10 times IMO BW wins 9, but tonight was their shot to Win. Great job Coach Gray on getting your kids ready, they deserved to win tonight.

Didn't Beechwood just play in the Super Preps? They most likely saw velocities in the mid 80's or better and then see 50's, they are lucky they had grounders and not k's

Kevin Gray is one of the finest coaches in the area and does more with less than anyone. Congrats to Beechwood on the win.

Is Combs or Fieger the ace this year?

They did play in that event.

Saw a kid going to pitch at UNC and a kid going to pitch at FSU.

Fieger has to be the number 1 at this point. The 2, thus far, has been Donnie Bankamper. Unlike the poster above Combs was, IMO, not dominant today and I don't think he has shined yet this season on the mound or the plate. He will. He diffidently will.

He had a no hitter with 8ks through 4, and a shutout through 5. That's dominant in my book. He and Stringer gonna have to learn to hit the duece, that are lucky to see one FB per at bat.
