This is a game that should be on the calendar each year simply due to the few miles distance between schools. This will only be like the 3rd or 4th time they have played each other since Pike Central opened in 1994. Pikeville should take this one pretty easy. McNamee has been a head coach @ both schools, which is interesting to me. Pikeville should have never let him go the first time & should feel lucky that he came back to them.

Maybe its just me, but I don't see what all the upheaval is about the transfers being approved or denied. During my time as an AD, I knew pretty much filling it out whether they were going to be approved or not with dang near perfect accuracy, honestly don't remember ever sending one to the association without knowing what answer I was going to get in return. It's all about the information that the receiving school supplies the KHSAA & whether there is any issues that are being contested by the sending school. The school I was at did a substantial amount of transfers in and out during my time & I never was surprised by any of the outcomes, this included in county, in state, out of state etc.....

I agree with @charlesw88 Dunbar doesn't have the discipline to win vs. any decent team at this point. They took a huge step backwards in regards to discipline when Paul Rains stepped down & it shows on the field & sidelines. With wins over 1-8 Jeffersontown, 2-6-1 Henry Clay (the worst I have ever seen them play in all my years, & beating 5A Anderson Co. who is 4-5 doesn't say a whole lot. Even though these aren't the Rebels of Smiths first go-around with Boyle Co., they should have no problem putting away the Bulldogs as an easy tune up for the 1st round playoff matchup the next week vs. Moore.

I was absolutely shocked at this final. Henry Clay is by far the worst team in Lexington only because Sayre doesn't have a football team, & they destroyed Station.

I would rather see him go somewhere where he would/could be on the court all 4 years in a greater capacity than what usually happens to Kentucky kids at UK. In no way am I discounting his talent by saying this, but if he went to a Mid-Major school rather than UK, he has a greater chance at proving/marketing himself such as a Shelvin Mack did going to Butler. Just my 2cents, but I don't want to see such a talented kid getting bench time & mop up minutes at UK & that seems to be what happens to nearly all Kentucky kids.

Scott Co. 73 Dunbar 18 Coulda been even worse honestly. McKee played the JV the entire 2nd half against them & they scored 25 more.

First, let me say I don't revel in someone losing, but I was looking through the records & decided to trace back & see who had the longest current losing streak going & was wondering which team would be the first to break the streak? Berea, losers of the last 22 in a row vs. Bishop Brossart this week, Estill Co. next week. Boone Co., losers of the last 28 in a row vs. Campbell Co. this week, Highlands next week. Logan Co., losers of the last 41 in a row vs. Calloway Co. this week, Todd Co. Central next week. or Do all 3 streaks continue? I would have made a poll, but I cant figure out how to do it.

I thought they were Red/Yellow/White or something like that? I played basketball in that gym one time, but by then it was a middle school only.

Unfortunately Jenkins probably doesn't need to shut the buses off. Could be a running clock by the end of the first quarter.

Pike Central is a combination of Johns Creek High School (Blue & White with Bearcats mascot) and Mullins High School (Orange & Black with Tigers Mascot) that opened in 1994. They took the blue from Johns Creek & the Orange from Mullins for the school colors. The mascot is the Hawks. Not sure if that was just a student vote, its been too long for me to remember honestly. Shelby Valley High School is a combination of Virgie High School (Blue & White with Eagles mascot) and the Dorton High School (Red and White with Wildcats mascot) They took the school colors of Virgie & the mascot of Dorton for the new school. East Ridge High School is a combination of Elkhorn City (Blue & Yellow with Cougars mascot) Millard (Brown and Yellow with Mustangs mascot) and Feds Creek (Blue and Yellow with Vikings mascot) The new school has Dark Blue & Light Blue for colors & Warriors as the mascot. (not sure where they got the color combo or mascot from:) ) Not sure about: Belfry High School Pikeville High School Phelps High School The best one of them all though was Hellier High School, Home of the Hellcats (yes that was the real name of the mascot)

Happy for Casey County & what Stonebraker & that team has accomplished so far this season!

There is a reason that Usain Bolt runs track & doesn't play football. No reason to compare apples to oranges here, two totally different sports. These kids have less than 3 days now till they will settle this argument for all of us.

Now that Rowan Co. has gotten a win under their belt and seems to have their offense in gear by putting 21 points up against Boyd Co. I will go with Johnson Central 56-6.

LCA will be able to show if they are a contender or pretender in 2A the next two weeks. I have had @ Somerset & @ Danville marked on the calendar since the beginning of the season as the two games that are a true test for this team in the regular season.

If you move & your parents don't move with you, then you return home because you don't like the situation or for whatever reason, then I feel that is the risk that you take when you left in the first place. There have been a couple instances already this year where a student-athlete has left to go to a prep school, for whatever reason they returned, & then wham-o, they are ruled ineligible & the family are up in arms about the ruling. Its simple guys & gals, just play ball & you are gonna get noticed. When kids from Kentucky are being told if they go to Vegas & play for Findlay Prep & they will get seen by coaches like Pitino & Cal there MORE than they will get seen playing here, I just find that hard to believe. I saw Cal in my gymnasium several times while I was AD, & it wasn't just to watch his son play ball.

@ATLCat Hopefully my comment wasn't taken that way either. These small communities don't have much coming to them anymore & have families leaving there more than anything. Hard to see how some of these small schools/communities have sustained for as long as they have. I never want to be the person that is seen as glorifying a winless season, that is far from who I am, hope it didn't come off that way.

Poor Jenkins. Looks like their only chance for a win might be South Floyd this Friday. Battle of the 0-6 teams.

Lafayette 1 Scott Co. 0 GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!

From what I know & its a good source, Lafayette offered multiple options (including a neutral facility) for Saturday since Scott Co. didn't have a viable facility for Saturday & that wasn't acceptable. Scott Co. was sending their JV & Freshman teams to Cincinnati on Saturday as well.
