One of the hardest NKY Football hits ever
lamontab replied to BIGBADDAD's topic in KY Football (High School)
Whatever happened to that video. -
From my understanding Derrick will play in the slot in the base formation and in the 2 back set Xavier will be FB... That could change since Xavier is lost 20lbs since the end of FB season. It should be fun watching this 2 headed monster at HC.
-
Are you sure about this because its news to me and Xavier Abernathy.
-
Block and Tackle better.

From what I saw on film WV is not built to stop a power run game. HC has a RB who could dominate a ground & pound type of game.

So we agree if you have a D1 body all you need to do is put in the work and let the chips fall where they may. The big jump in production normally happens from the sophomore to junior year. That's one of the reasons big schools don't wanna see players until after there sophomore year. Now I know for fact that the HC's #3 was invited to a rising freshmen all star game in Miami and dominated the competition. Most of the kids came from the rich SEC recruiting areas. -

You are correct sir... When HC played Newport we I don't thing there was any personal files after the play. -

D-1 players come from all over the place even a little school like HC... They do have a 230lbs RB who's only a 15yr old sophomore. So before you make a blanket statement like that asked the NCC players what it like to tackle a big back like that. -
I hear on good Authority that Derrick Barnes has been cleared to join the team.
-
HC has 2 of those type athletes that are only sophomores. When D.Barnes becomes eligible HC will be hard to deal with in 2A.

Holy Cross @ Lloyd Predictions 10/3

We really don't know how good either of these teams really are. We are now in district play so these games count. No more getting pushed all over the field by big schools. We hope HC doesn't become another cupcake on the Juggs schedule. Lets play some football. -

I think this is HC's best chance at getting a win. -

HC has really good chance this game if the can run the ball. HC lost a winnable game to Holmes because they played short handed and injured. They got crushed by SK playing even more short handed. BW has played and lost 2 games so therefore both these team are bad this year. Why give BW credit that they have not earned this year? -

HC hasn't played a game this year with a healthy RB. That Mt. Healthy team was filled with players that played with HC's RB. Like a said if HC can run the ball they have chance to win... BW fans predicted that they would be fast enough to play with Mt. Healthy and good enough to beat Dixie. Both assumptions were wrong. -

MT. Healthy has less then 900 students grades 9th - 12th. -
HC's #4 is Derrick Barnes So. HB/LB and he is a game changer. #6 of Holmes Fred Vickers is his older brother.
-
The HC RB played the entire game with a high ankle sprain. He shouldn't have played IMO.

I think SK should travel north and play some big schools is Cincy just to see if they measure up. Claiming to be the best team in NKY seems to be an empty boast when being the best team in NKY means nothing compared to state titles. When is the last time SK was invited to play on ESPN like some of the other high school football powers. Lets keep it all in perspective please. -
Holmes @ Covington Holy Cross Predictions

They seem to be blocking better this year. The big RB averaged 11 yds per carry at Bellevue last week. -
Holmes @ Covington Holy Cross Predictions
lamontab replied to nkypete's topic in KY Football (High School)
I was at that scrimmage and to be perfectly honest both teams looked really bad. If Holmes didn't commit so many mistakes they could have won that scrimmage. NCC is way down and so is Holmes from what I saw. The talent gap has closed between all 3 schools, so HC has a chance to get a win if they can run the ball and limit the big play scores. -
Holmes @ Covington Holy Cross Predictions
lamontab replied to nkypete's topic in KY Football (High School)
Yea he's banged up. He took a knee to the ankle and it does look good for him to play tonight. He was really looking forward to returning to the scene of "THE HIT" and playing Holmes.
