  1. How can Holy Cross Cov be ranked behind Cooper NCC & CovCath when they have beat them all head to head?
  2. Congrats to your son and your family. Thanx for sharing your experiences. My son is entering his Sr. year and his hoping to continue to play at the next level.
  3. I would love to hear about this huge advantage these teams have. I know that HC had the advantage in points when they played Cooper.
  4. Can someone give me a break down of the game. It seems to me that CC has more talent at its disposal than NCH, but the Thompson brothers are a special tandem in NCH's 3 headed guard attack.
  5. I'm confused for some reason no one is giving HC the credit they deserve... HC hadn't lost a game to anyone in the 9th. They are playing the best defense of anyone in the 9th an if I'm not mistaken they are the most experienced team in the region with their top 6 players being seniors.
  6. Most would agree that the 10th region was not the most difficult to win the past couple of years. I think CC had enough talent to beat CovCath last year.
  7. I'm not trying to prove or start an argument. I just gave my opinion on CC bball.
  8. WOW!!! I'll try to make this as simple as possible. I don't have anything against CC or coach Russell. 1. I don't agree with his coaching philosophies because I think his teams underachieve with the talent that he has at his disposal. 2. IMO Evan Zumwalde being buried on the bench at CC is a travesty. If only you CC supporters could see him play when he's away from CC, you would be presently surprised by how easy he scores. I kid you not, this kid makes opposing coaches fans by the way he plays the game. 3. Best of luck the rest of the season and Merry Xmas.
  9. My son doesn't play for HC and I didn't watch the CC coaches because that's not what I do when attend a game.
  10. Why does everyone think I have an axe to grind with CC or coach Russell. People was posting how this years CC team is underachieving and I offered my opinion based my observations. My son has never play a sport for any CC team at any level.
  11. I wouldn't know coach Russell if he was standing right in front of me. I only evaluate what I have witnessed on the floor. BTW Good win tonight CC. Congrats.
  12. No I haven't implied or suggested someone be benched. What I have suggested is that, coaching philosophies be addressed, talent be reevaluated and hard work rewarded with opportunities to contribute to the teams success.
  13. IMO it's not about starting it's about having the opportunity to contribute to the team they have sacrificed so much for. I don't believe in rewarding kids for showing up but I do feel if you put in the work in and out of season you have earned the opportunity to play.
  14. Its pretty sad that kids have to transfer schools because a coach decides not to use their talents. If everyone outside of CC can see the talent then maybe its something to be said about the talent evaluation in CC.
  15. I didn't come out against anyone!!! I have repeatedly stated that IMO CC has the most bball talent in NKY. What is done with said talent is the coaches decision. If you are losing games that you shouldn't have maybe someone needs to make different decisions.
  16. I agree with you because you have pointed out problems only the coach can solve. Which was my very 1st point.
  17. Well I've heard the complaints of players and students about unfair treat in CC schools... So I have observed over the past 4 seasons the truthfulness in their complaints.
  18. I have actually coach a number of kids that attend CC schools.
  19. Well BirdBrain I don't have a dog in the fight at CC. I don't have any family past or present at CC. I have just watched the CC ignore talented kids for kids who have been anointed the best players. I'm not suggesting a coaching change just an adjustment in philosophies. Evan Zumwalde is a Jr at CC that is buried on JV and never see the varsity floor. IMO he has the most perimeter talent at CC. He hit the mid range jump shot off the dribble going in either direction. He can finish at the rim with either hand and knock down the 3 from 23 feet, but he doesn't get to play varsity. There is also a big man Brad Geiman who could help on varsity. Picture Matt Wilson in a Hi-Lo set with another 6'7 big man. BTW I'm and HC parent.
  20. Everything you stated is a reflection of the coaching philosophies and talent evaluations.
  21. He also was played very physically by HC's Hacker. Make no mistake this is not a Matt Wilson problem this is coaching philosophy issue.
  22. Barnes from HC has pushed him around the past 2 years and by CC I meant Campbell County. CC was talented enough to beat CovCath last year but was completely out coached last year.
  23. I see there is a reoccurring theme with these post. Matt Wilson is a very skilled big man but he is not a dominate big man. He gets pushed around by physical players. Matt could benefit from receiving the at the mid or high post, where he could utilize superior athleticism and face up game to attack the basket. I personally think CC has the most basketball talent in NKY. What I don't understand is why that talent is walking the halls or buried on JV. Oh wait a minute yes I do. ATHLETIC POLITICS AND COACHING!!!
