Breds come away with a victory and now its time to get ready for BW. Still a lot of undisciplined errors and fumbles ( 3 personal fouls and 2 fumbles). It seems as though NCC is/has developed a reputation with the refs and are picking up more personal fouls. They better get this straightened out or its going to cost them a game down the stretch. The oline blocked well in the run and passing game. QB still needs to make better decisions whether to run or throw.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all by the same player, he is better than that. This needs to be corrected pronto!

you are correct. The refs talk and they know who to pay "special " attention too. Just play, that's all.

NewCath's Jake Smith ran wild tonight, 16 car, 234 yds, 5 tds (53, 60, 23, 24, 1). Also "coughed" it up twice.

Nice game turned in by the Breds Nate Enslen, a pick 6 (had a 32 yd TD run called back) & some strong "yards after catch", he has turned into a very nice player.

Holy Cross Xavier Abernathy had a very nice game going for 25 car, 132 yds, 2 tds, the kid is a "load".

1st Quarter

10:31 NewCath Nate Enslen 45 yd INT return, Anderson kick. 7-0 NewCath

2nd Quarter

11:53 NewCath Jake Smith 24 yd TD run, Anderson kick. NewCath 28-7

10:23 NewCath Jake Smith 23 yd TD run, Anderson kick. NewCath 35-7

3rd Quarter

09:04 NewCath Jake Smith 1 yd TD run, Henschen to Enslen. NewCath 43-7

03:51 NewCath John Harris 2 yd TD run, Owen kick. NewCath 50-7

04:40 Holy Cross Abernathy 11 yd TD run, Scott kick. NewCath 50-21

Wow 3 PF's in one game? When do they get ejected? Seems like there has to be a rule on that at least for HS ball. I know Burfict makes a living doing this but seems unacceptable for a HS kid to get 3 in one game. Just curious.

Not sure all 3 were on same kid. One PF was after the play jawing stuff and PF was semi-questionable. HC RB had ball ripped away at 2 yard line and ball went flying back to 10 where QB picked it up and had what looked like a clear path to endzone. But he got shoe-stringed tackled at the 7 and then PF call came for hitting him late but I thought defensive player was already in motion and could not stop.

HC seems like they spend 90% of practice time on offense and 10% on defense. Offense is not bad but defense is just nowhere near what they would need to be to stay in a game like this.

3rd was a chop block. In his defense, its a difficult block to make when zone blocking, especially if the defender is slanting to the play side and he has to get across his face from the backside. After the defender has already made initial contact with an offensive lineman another offensive lineman cannot go below the waist for a block. I don't think it was intentional, its part of the game and it happens.

I asked this yesterday in the prediction thread and got no answer. Can someone tell me if Holy Cross has an offensive lineman that is getting some D1 looks?

Not to sound flippant, but I didn't see anyone with D-1 ability playing for HC.

HC had some guys banged up after last night.

D-1 players come from all over the place even a little school like HC... They do have a 230lbs RB who's only a 15yr old sophomore. So before you make a blanket statement like that asked the NCC players what it like to tackle a big back like that.

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but when NCC and Newport clashed, wasn't EVERYBODY saying how bad Newport was and that the NCC players didn't act this way?
