Both teams can score, this game comes down to defense, Purples win because of that, as I said before Catholic is a load short on defense, that struggled last year to stop people, gave up lots of points, i think their defensive will not be as good as last years because of losing a couple of good players and Letton to boot. Lex Cath defense gave up boat loads of points last year and they lost a couple of good defensive players. I would think that Catholics defense would not beaa good as last year. BGs defense seemed to be strong aganst a fast Mercer team. But i do not think you take Much from BGs game or Lex Caths game , both of there opponents were not very competitive. That being said i think BG wins because of defense theres and the lack of Catholics def.

Bullitt East is a hard nose , hard hitting football team, they may not lose again this reg season

What a messed up night for football. I don't know what to say. I think both teams are good, but how good, hard to say. 2 hour delay, Bullitt Central player had a bad broken leg, lots of penaltys and dropped balls. Just a bad night for football. Boyles d is good, Bullitt did not move the ball at all, their score came from a fumbled punt. Bullitt played good D as well but Boyle dropped 2 td passes. Best thing i saw was Boyles punter. 2 punts inside the 5 and a 75 yard punt. Where did he come from.

I hate to predict scores of the team I root for, i just feel awkward about it. Just want my team to pack their lunch and go to work. Get up earlier and stay later. With that being said it looks like Smith hasnt missed a beat. I do believe Boyle. County will be the best team in 4a by the end of the year with the explosive backfield they have and the defensive gurus of Smith and Hester.

I would like to have stifled team thats up 31~0 before you can get the water bottles off the bus. I take a stifled team like thay any day.

I believe it was 38~14, but tc scored at beg of 4th when both jvs were in. Ta t es creek had a good looking rb.

I saw 2 backs that were very difficult to bring down for Boyle. The qb just ran 3 or 4 times maybe for 60 yds. Def good and bad at times, big and strong. Mostly worked on passing game , lots of recievers, trying to get them adjusted. 3rd quarter Boyle broke it open. Not many sets on off. Run. But the line looked pretty good, since that was big ? Mark. Recivers caught some good passes, dropped a few, But the backfield is strong and fast, and i think the qb will run more than 3 or four times. Aggressive on def. Many guys swarmed ball, some newcomers have to get their angles and blocks better. Boyle might wind up with 2 wins?? or maybe a few more!!!!

Mercer will be 3-7, maybe 4-6 if they can beat central hardin. They lose to: Bowling. Green Glasgow Anderson Boyle Lex Cath Dunbar

Does the team have a legitimate running back for this year?

I believe I heard french say last year, that teams do no platoon as much the deeper you move into the playoffs. They piut there players in a position to win. Some players are not good enough or strong enough to go both ways. So you plau them on one side. Case in point HHS qb last year was a heck of a pocket passer, but he had cement. Shoes he could not have played defense. The later the year became teams figured that out and exploited it more. He was as good a passer in the state, but could not have been effective on the defensive side of the ball. There is more factors tha one for platooning or not.

It looks to me from watching practice things are going to be different in this way.example they moved robbins to safety instead of corner keeping him out of the run game for the most part, showing me that Smith may be more strategic on how he uses guys. Also they have packages where the backs will be off the field and brown will be split out. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Also i dont think it is a secret how much running robbins might do because of his speed and strength he has increased. If i remember correctly he returned an interception against mercer as a frshman over 100 yds. So if you cant catch a kid in a 100 yds, you cant catch him. He is much stronger and faster now from the look of him in practice.

That has to be the biggest homer comment on here. It is not like chuck has not been coaching. How many linebackers does he have in the NFL

Boyle Co. Has a couple advantages on Hhs this year. 1 they have a better coach and proven, that is not debatable. The hhs coach maybe good but it has to be played out.He is not Chuck Smith. 2 the Boyle qb is better. So the 2 most important factors have to go to Boyle this year.

More players, some really strong linemen and linebackers, some bigger guys than we have seen in a while. Some are faster and have hit their growth spurt. Rbs look strong fast and healthy. Hoskins will be a load this year. Qb looks in great shape his upper body looks good and very strong to go with his good football sense and good legs. Alot of recievers , a couple of new ones with speed and onexwith good size.

Do not count Southwest out. They have alot of talent in those halls and the caliber of coach they have now will give them at least 7 or 8 wins, plus a transfer or 2 and some kids playing thatsat.out last year, not t ok mention the middle school team they had a couple of years ago. A good coach makes all the difference. Remember Hilton took an 0-11 Bourbon team and won the state the next season.

If anyone thinks there is a receiver on this team as good as Letton, you are seeing something no one else has. Letton is a d1 nice receiver.

Robbins from Boyle Co. May have something to say about that, whom i believe may be the best dual threat qb in the state this year. He is super talented.

Boyle county will be hard to handle this year, great coaching staff, defense will be even better than last year, and they have the best dual threat qb in the state.

French is good enough to chalk up several more wins just from his coaching to any team that is down. If you have talent to go along with his coaching ability, then the sky is the limit.

The talent that could wind up on the field and the sidelines this year, could be a sight to see.

Big stuff stirring in Boyle, sounds good.

Just wonder if Lex Cath and Boyle could still play up in 4a, or would it be too late. Becauae the overall comp would be better and Highlands will be gone.
