Johnson Central has to be looked @ seriously especially by the boys on the other side of their bracket, hhs and cov cath. First they have a kicker that can kick field goals and put the ball in the endzone on every kickoff before he gets off the bus. Second Johnson beat Harlan Co. With a running clock. Third they play some smash mouth football, like the mountain teams and teams like JH that seems to give highlands trouble. JC seems to just keep taking care of business and getting better every week.

Surely the water boy was hurt for hhs or something for 3a to be in the game in the 4th. JC might get this film

Anderson will win this side in 5A unless Pulaski is for real. Anderson has all the pieces. Their receiver is as better than most except for the kid at Bg and trinity. He is big and fast. Mercers d backs are small. But the line is where mercer will get dominated ,and because none of thier backs even come close to being as good or strong as James Johnson from Last year they lose . Here is my question. How come hhs is down 21 -0 before they can get off the bus barely at Trinity every year in a scrimmage and final score is usually 48-20. And that is some kind of moral victory. But J Hardin plays within a td o hhs and there considered to not have been in the game. I thought the game wasn't over until the end of the 4th qtr

Here is something to think about. John Hardin gave Highlands a game because they play the kind of football Highlands does not. Highlands is a finesse team and they are good at it! But smash mouth football is a little different when you have the attitude and horses to do it. My point is this may be an advantage for teams that are strong and like to hit, possibly teams like Johnson Central and Boyle. Over the years the teams that have had some success against Highlands are the hard hitting teams like Bell Co. And Boyle. Just food for thought.

I believe you jumped the gun with this article. Mercer gets beat the next 2 weeks by Anderson & Lex Cath. Then they will most likely lose to Boyle & Dunbar. Finish 5~5. Mercer imo does not have a running back even close to last years Johnson and the defense gives up way too many points .

Someone could challenge those teams because Scott Co. did last year. Losing can get in a teams head just like winning. Also there are a couple of teams in each of those classes that are very young but have loads of talent that will figure out by the end of the year that might play with anyone in thier class. Something to think about.

In my opinion those guys received the greastest lesson football can teach, far above winning, that is being stedfast under adversity. Way to go to the coaches and players who refused to quit. We all know having played football and moved into the real world adversity is always around and these programs have a leg up on it. You are never disqualifed unless you quit. Way to endure.

Lex Cath cannot play defense. They gave up 28 Lafayette and X & BG called the dogs off when they reached the high 40's. I think your right Cath may be the fav. But they can't run the ball like Boyle and they can't stop anyone. Let us see what they do with Station this week.

Here appears to be the deal with Boyle Co. As best as I can see. First the room for them to grow is tremendous because they start so many underclassmen. Second their D was the big question mark going into the season and they have really shown up. If they were to go all the way this year they will not see a bigger team or more athletic bunch than warren central. Third they will not see the amont of overall speed from anybody else in 4a as they saw in Danville. Fourth nobody can keep them out of the endzone. There backfield has Enough power to compete at any level. Their qb is dangerous and threat to go anytime he touches the ball and he touches the ball every play, and he throws a real nice ball, just a soph. The running backs are all good and hard to bring down especially Hoskins. Burke punishes people on both sides of the ball. The receivers are open alot because the backfield is so dangerous. There is a good expo why Boyle is not down like the last 2 yrs. By the way Boyle pulled its foot off the gas on Lincoln and Danville, probably because French has friends at both places. The game with Warren Central was a battle. So i believe Boyle will win but I think a team like Anderson will be good competition for this young team. It is good to see 2 programs with lots of success play each other

Lex Cath probably wins, but they better learn how to play defense. Giving up alot of pts this year.

The only teams that can question Trinitys #1 spot for all of Ky is BG or Scott. BG beat X and Highlands didn't show anything in the scrimmage to prove they can play with Trinity.

Bowling Green has earned the # 1. Trinity is prob #2 because schedule And handling HHS pretty easy again in their scrimmage. Which would leave ST X 3 and Scott Co and Highlands looking at 4 and 5

Here is my point. I said qb from highland is good and the rest of the team is good. I do believe that towles was an awesome qb. So my point is that if towles who was really good cant get a look at lex, then how can you compare the qb at highlands to him or barker seeing he has only played 3 games against 2 horrible teams and a 2a Team that drove all the way up from the everglades to play.

Highlands people need to let up about there QB he seems to be good but they sent a guy to lexington that can' t get a nod on the worst team in sec. Highlands wins because they have alot of good players and not a star qb. There qb not even close to Barker.

Boyle is so young but already learning how to finish in big games. The d was a question but only give up 23 pts so far in 3 games. All these young guys might be starting to grow up. The backfield is explosive and fun to watch.
