Johnson Central has to be looked @ seriously especially by the boys on the other side of their bracket, hhs and cov cath. First they have a kicker that can kick field goals and put the ball in the endzone on every kickoff before he gets off the bus. Second Johnson beat Harlan Co. With a running clock. Third they play some smash mouth football, like the mountain teams and teams like JH that seems to give highlands trouble. JC seems to just keep taking care of business and getting better every week.

Johnson Central, IMHO, is at worst the #3 team in 4A right now.

Not impressed with Ashland thusfar. One point wins over Raceland and Russell are a bit telling. Raceland is a quality 1A school for sure, but a Top 10 4A team should be able to handle a good 1A school.. Russell may not even be a Top 15 caliber 3A team. The Tomcats are NewCath's lone win, and Ironton is supposedly a few steps back form last year's team.

You are right that traditionally Johnson Centeral plays the style of football (long time consuming drives that limit possesions) that is capable of upsetting Highlands. The only problem with that game plan is that it will require Johnson Central to also be nearly perfect on offense - no penalties that get you off schedule, no turnovers, etc.

HHS has always looked at JC seriously, as I'm sure CCH has also.
