August 1st is the first day that players can wear full pads for contact. I thought I'd do a roll call for all schools who do a midnight madness intrasquad scrimmage when the clock hits 12:00 tonight. Also, how well attended is your midnight madness?

For some reason, it's incomplete on their website. The full schedule should be uploaded soon. CC will scrimmage Clermont Northeast (OH). I'm assuming this will happen 8/11 but I'm not sure of the exact date. From looking at SK's box score and then their roster, it looks like they are keeping a good bit of talent from this year's team. They'll be a good program again next year.

I'd say the 2014 Pioneers, the 2016 Camels and the 2017 Pioneers resided on the favorable side of the bracket. The 2015 Bluebirds went through fire to reach the title game.

@KingOfClutch33 That's a fair question. The Camels went 4-8 last year after going 1-10 in 2015. This year's team is the most talented since the district-winning teams 5-6 years ago. Their current senior class is much stronger than last year's. Their current junior class may be the most talented in a long time. What many people may not know is that CC played a good number of sophomores last year, with a number of them starting. I'm not sure if you'll see a jump to 8-4 or better, but I don't think you'll see a 44-0 loss to Conner or a 50-20 loss to SK like we did in 2016. I think it depends on how far the O-Line and D-Line takes them.

This could be a much improved and tough-to-beat CC team. I think their success will be determined by the linemen. Campbell has weapons galore on both sides of the ball and have the athletes for sure. If the O-Line & D-Line can hold their own, they'll be in good shape.

So they CAN play this year? Didn't one of the brothers play RB for Highlands last year on varsity? If so, doesn't that mean he has to sit this year at NCC?
