  1. Highlands wins by 4 TDs. Campbell Co is closing the gap though
  2. Toss up game for me. Walton is very disciplined, so I look for them to pull this one out, but Newport has some studs this year so it could go either way
  3. I am hearing HC is not playing several starters. Is this true? They didn't have much of a shot to begin with and not playing some starters? Can we get a running clock on this from the start? SK should've dropped this game and found a better opponent. HC is not a good fball team
  4. This will be a close game, but I can see Boone getting in the win column finally
  5. LeeCorso, not sure about 4TDs difference in this game. The game I watched could've gone either way. HC had bad turnovers deep in Holmes territory. Holmes dropped big passes. Both teams had fumbles. Both teams need to improve the mental mistakes. This game was very entertaining to watch, even with the mistakes. HC definitely had their chances. The Big Back at HC that everyone on here was talking about looked very out of shape and didn't like to move unless he was getting the ball. He should go to offensive line and help that group out because they need it. #4 looks impressive if and when he gets to play for HC. As for Holmes, #10 looked very good and the Qb was pretty accurate. They are gonna be pretty good if they can bring it together. They won't hang with Highlands or CCH, but they can still have a pretty good and competitive team
  6. How can HC not have one of the best lines in NKY when you have a former NFL offensive lineman as a head coach?
  7. Can these kids move their feet at all? HC line play has been bad from what Im being told. Zion has lost a lot of weight and no one besides Gangwish is that big are they? I have no dog in the fight, no pun intended, but Im just curious if this is Dad talk or if its realistic
  8. I'm hearing that HC is going to be playing without the Big RB tonight. Any truth to that? I have friends that have seen both teams play. If the big RB doesn't play, this game won't be close. If he does play, this could get interesting as long as he isn't banged up
  9. Interesting game. Holmes might be favored, but HC has a good chance if they can avoid the big play from Holmes. Go Indians!
  10. I totally want their to be a NKY alumni game. Beechwood vs CCH. Beechwood vs. NCC. CCH vs Highlands. Boone vs Conner. Scott vs SK. Dixie vs Holmes. I could watch any of these games. What else would be a great NKY game from back in the day?
  11. They were doing pretty good for awhile. Having a winning record a few years ago. How did it drop off so fast?
  12. Good coaches. Need more kids to come out and play. I wish the Mustangs luck
  13. At the D1 level, I agree that height and speed are the most important factor. However, there are plenty of D2, NAIA schools that give football scholarships that need kids too. Your head coach can really make a difference at those levels, which is what I don't think SK has a great track record of doing
  14. Coach Brossart has really done a nice job with this program and has made them competitive. Some receivers to step up would be nice. Drew Moore is an excellent athlete, but I don't think he will be a Qb in college. He will be an amazing receiver if a coach can see his talent versus being blinded by his qb skills. He is a pretty decent Qb and will be just fine because of his athleticism, but to compete for a title, Dixie will have to do alot with read option or play action passes for Drew. One way or another, Coach Brossart will have them well coached and Drew will be one of the best athletes on the field at all times
  15. Im sorry that you feel that Jeff does everything for his kids to get recruited, but it is just not the case. Again, talk to some of his former players and see what they think of this topic. As far as Louisville kids being faster, first the excuse was they have more kids to choose from. Now its because they are faster. It just sounds like a bunch of excuses to me, but since you seem to know everything about coaching and football, I guess I will take your word for it that NKY just can't compete with Louisville schools.
  16. You have made some decent points. However, there are other levels of college football that are not D3 level and do require a head coach to promote his kids, especially when the coaches are coming to your school asking you if you have any kids that could play college. If you don't think that is the case, go ask some of the kids that played for him. See if they think he cared about them or tried to help them get recruited. He leaves it all up to the kid and the parents to get recruited. How many kids or parents know how to play the recruiting game? Finally, I wonder if we can get the water from Louisville shipped up here since all of their kids are so much faster in that part of the state. That comment about Louisville kids just being faster is laughable
  17. Don't let the Kool Aid drinkers scare you off of your perceptions. You being an outsider can see clearly
  18. If you have seen the results of Marksberry in the big games and tell me that is good coaching, then you have never seen good coaching. In recent years, against Ryle, St. X, and Butler to name a few. He has great kids and alot feeding into SK right now, which is attributed to the growth in the Southern end of the county, not because Marksberry did anything. He doesn't go the extra miles to help his kids get to colleges. Is that good coaching too? I think you guys must be enamored with some succes since SK hasn't had any. His track record is not impressive. If they don't win a state championship or don't make it to one in the next few years, is it still a success when you have that many kids on a fball team or are you gonna say they can't compete with Louisville talent? They have just as many players on the team at SK as those schools do. Stop making excuses for Marksberry
  19. Saying that Marksberry has created the buzz in Independence is a joke. Independence's growth and development fell into his lap to make him look good. With the talent that has been at SK the past years, are you telling me Yeagle or Mueller wouldn't have won championships by now? The growth of the middle schools and peewee league's was independent of Marksberry. Please tell me what he has done to make them thrive. Answer this for me, if you are a 6A team, why are you playing 1A and 2A competition. HC and NCC would gladly let SK out of the contract for them to schedule a team more comparable in size. Marksberry should do it, but won't so he can make the record look better. You made my point for me, there is so much talent funneling into SK right now, if they don't win a championship in the next few years, does Marksberry need to go? It will never happen since he only answers to himself. Why would any school let the head coach also be his own boss?
  20. SK needs to drop NCC and HC. If you are a superior 6A team, why are you playing small schools? HC and NCC will both be down again, so go play somebody that will make you better. There are plenty of teams in the state or Cincy that they should be playing. Marksberry just wants to pad is stats.......could that be why they have let downs in the playoffs? They have a ton of talent and even more coming up. If SK doesn't win a championship soon, Marksberry needs to go
  21. 8A is unimaginable. 6A is a joke. Ky should be 4A at most, but I would settle on 5A. The classification system now has really watered the competition down a bit until you get to the best 6teams or so in each class. At least with 5A classification, you would get 10-12 teams that can compete with each other and make it a respectable game. Highlands has more state championships than anyone else.....congrats, but I would like to have seen them play Bowling Green year in and year out like they used to
  22. What makes you say that? Didn't their big RB graduate?
  23. Throw Jalen Beal into the mix as well and Gtown has an amazing group of kids from this area coming down. The future looks bright for the Tigers
