  1. Sounds like he needs a cheeseburger!!!! He is bigger than that. He is probably 185ish if I was guessing. Great kid and one of their better athletes
  2. I heard they lost their starting QB and backup QB and were limited on offensive playcalls. Hope they get that figured out quickly if it is true
  3. When you are a small school and going against a good large school, losing one player does matter, especially if he is going both ways. When you lose your best player, imo, it matters even more because there is usually a big drop off at small schools because there are less kids to choose from. Should NCC forfeit.....are you suggesting that? No one on here has suggested that. Wonder why you say that Sportsfan2012? When you cheer for a good player in the area, it is good to know why he is missing games if he is injured. No one likes to see kids get injured. Guess you don't care whether he is injured, whether he plays, or care about the kid in general the way you are carrying on. I hope he isn't injured personally so I was wondering why no one is talking about his well being. Watching high school football, you should always care about the well being of every kid. If he did something wrong, sit him and hopefully he learns from his mistake. If he is injured, how many games will he be out? Are these bad questions to ask?
  4. Injury or did he do something wrong and they are sitting him? If he isn't playing, Scott wins and not that close
  5. Scott has more talent and should win. However, NCC has a really good coaching staff so this game should be close. On a side note, since NCC switched their offense up this year, I think Scott will pull away late
  6. I think SK will win this one. They are too big and too deep for a small school to beat this year. However, I would love to see an upset here
  7. I will take Cooper in a shocker
  8. Holy Cross has some serious weapons this year, but with the starting QB banged up, this could be very close. I will take the Indians in this one though
  9. Close game to call, but the difference will be which defense gets stops. I think both offenses are very good, one is a clock management type offense and the other is a fast paced high scoring type. I think whoever wins will win a close one, but I will take the Colonels in this one
  10. Different scheme and different positions. He was one of the best no doubt. Markell Walker, Stone, Armstrong, Fuller are the top 4. I don't know who to say was the best out of that group. I will say that Derek Barnes might be the best out of this group. I am definitely going to try to get down and watch him play this year. I think he might be one of the best players in NKY this year
  11. It was all about Fuller because it was game planned to make you either take away the run or take away the pass. You couldn't take away both, which no one down the stretch did. The QB is a pivotal part of any team and offensively he did what was asked of him. However, the defense wasn't all about Fuller. That defense was very very good. It does take both sides of the ball to win
  12. Again, Silly statement. He was a great player, but NOWHERE, come on. They would've ended up in the regional final against NCC anyway.
  13. You usually schedule based on what you have in the cupboard. Obviously, that schedule was too difficult for them. It may not have been for some of the other teams in 2A, but it was for them. Not sure I see the point you are trying to make. Did you not think that SK, Campbell, Scott, Conner, Beechwood, and Holmes is tough enough out of district?
  14. Agreed. Their offense will be fine with some nice talented kids. They need to improve drastically on defense to take the next step forward
  15. That is a much better schedule for them. The last two years was ridiculous as far as scheduling goes and they were very young. This year they should be much better
  16. Absolutely wrong. Silly statement
  17. Don't be a Homer. One person does not win a football game. He was the QB and made great decisions. That was a team effort and HC was the better team. HC was more athletic and was more physical that night. I can understand disappointing because you expected to win. However, don't assume that one person one a game...that's just silly
  18. Totally agree with you
  19. In 2011, if you were at that game and thought that NCC was the better team by far, as you stated, then you had your blinders on. That was a great game and HC was the better team at that point of the season. Your other point, the Beechwood game was the 4th week of the season. Its not about how you start a season, it's how you finish. Any football mind could tell the HC team improved drastically by the end of the year and that defense was lights out. The offense was very potent too. If you think that HC and Beechwood at the end of the year would be a route, than you don't know football at all. Teams are allowed to improve. Beechwood exposed HC's weaknesses and HC fixed them.....obviously because they won the title. HC and Mayfield would've been a great game at the end of the season in 2011. I don't want to make predictions, but it would've been great to see. To bring the point full circle, Beechwood barely beat NCC at the end of the season in 2011, which is what HC did as well. HC and Beechwood would've been a great game at the end of the year as well. If you disagree, that's ok, but you drawing conclusions that don't hold much weight.
  20. Tough to take on a job this late in the year. Good luck to Newport. They had a great year last year. Hopefully they still have some talent left that will play and continue their success
  21. Holy Cross will be way better than they have been the last 2years. They young guys have experience now and Derek Barnes is the real deal. I can't wait to see this kid play
  22. From what I was told, the schedule was complete prior to Eviston being hired.
  23. I think this schedule could be tougher. They will be a very good 2A team this year, but I think they should be playing some of the elite teams in 5 and 6A. This schedule is not weak, Im not saying that. Im just saying that as good as Mayfield usually is, they could compete with more of the elite big teams
  24. This could be an interesting year in 2A. The number of good teams is really impressive. I think that NCC, Lloyd, and HC will all be very solid this year. The Louisville teams are always good. Throw in some of the 2A teams in the Western part of the state, this is a very good class of teams
  25. With Woody and Pelgin calling the shots, this team has a chance to have a really successful season. Good luck to the Tigers
