50 Greatest Programs in Kentucky History Part II (21-30)
That point can probably be made about most regions.

50 Greatest Programs in Kentucky History Part II (21-30)
I would probably weight Regional titles 5, state wins 7, and state titles 10. Most districts only have 4-5 teams, so honestly winning a district isn't much of an accomplishment when thinking of best programs of all time.

Mr. Basketball 2017
Faulker is a wonderful player and deserved it no doubt about it, and I don't want to discredit he or Williams as they are awesome players and young men. I know for a FACT ppl around the 5th region don't like Gatewood or Taylor County. A lot of the dislike for TC actually goes back before Gatewood when they brought a transfer student in from Danville, and parents were giving jobs and housing. Then Gatewood bringing Sloan and Gaines in as transfer didn't help. Berry and Morgeson are from Campbellsville they did only play 1 year at Taylor County their senior year. So Gatewood has been at Taylor County for 3 years and has had 4 players transfer in.

Taylor wasn't a very good team until they got Gaines playing IMO. Yes Taylor struggled and I always thought #1 was to high, but when you got 2 top 150 players on the same team in KY hard to not rank them #1. Owen County also lost lost in the first round of the region. So one team underachieved to start and the other did at the finish.

I just could see Sloan going to prep school and Gatewood taking a college job. I would call it fact that Gatewood isn't liked, was that the sole reason Goodin didn't win? I doubt it,BUT I'm pretty sure it had something to do with it.

Mr. Basketball 2017
They have some good young talent, Irvin will be a VERY good player. The Smith kid will be a good player too. Even with Goodin and Sloan if not for Gaines they dont go back to Rupp IMO.

Mr. Basketball 2017
I agree Sloan will be in the conversation as he's probably the highest ranked player in his class. I just don't think Sloan could do more than Goodin did this season. Yes its a long time and anything could happen. Nobody likes Gatewood and they proved that by not voting for Goodin. If Goodin couldn't win as front runner I think it will be near impossible for Sloan to win being the 2nd or 3rd choice. Honestly, I wouldn't be to shocked if Sloan and Gatewood aren't at TC next year.

Mr. Basketball 2017
If Goodin wasn't able to win it this year I HIGHLY doubt Sloan wins next year. If he has a good AAU summer he might get close to the national exposure Goodin had. Beside that TC will have a difficult time keeping up the same level of success they've had the past few years. North, Adair, John, Central and Bardstown should all be as good or improved from this year. So winning region will be a difficult task for them IMO, unless a stud transfer moves to TC lol

Doss 69 Taylor County 58 (Sweet 16 Quarterfinals)
Yes he is and I believe will have a excellent college career. There were more calls in the 2nd half but seemed they called more on the perimeter than in the lane.
-
Campbellsville 2016
Cville lost about 1/3 of their roster to graduation. They have the talent returning to compete with everyone they play, aside from maybe Danville.
-
Doss 69 Taylor County 58 (Sweet 16 Quarterfinals)
Doss coach get a good job and team did any excellent job executing his gameplan. Seemed as everytime Goodin or Sloan drove the lane Doss had 4 guys waiting on them. Doss also took their time on offense, and tried to get the best shot possible.

Taylor County 94 Mason County 65 (Sweet 16 1st Round)
Not sure if the KHSAA can step in on a school policy that was broken. Not if it was a KHSAA policy I could see it. As I have no knowledge of what actually happened or is happening in this situation.

Central Kentucky Football in 2016
After this coming season it will be a rebuilding year in the sense, you will be replacing all your skill guys. I agree they lost some linemen and a good chunk of their defense. The question is do a coach come in take the job for a year have success then leave, or is the coach committed to the long run. That also is the question AC adminstration must think about as well.

Central Kentucky Football in 2016
Last I heard, which came from this website, were Peck, a current assistant, and Josh Jaggers. How true is any of that IDK. The thing with the AC job is that this year you will be expected to win at least 9 games and reach the 2nd round of the playoffs. Then after that it will be a drop off in talent.

Taylor County 86 Campbellsville 47 (20th District Senifinals)
wonder where he has went?

Taylor County 86 Campbellsville 47 (20th District Senifinals)
By NO MEANS am I a TC supporter. Actually I graduated from a rival 5th region school, and work (different school than I graduated) at another 5th region school. Yes I tend to fallow basetball and football closely with area (5th region). I've fallowed TC the last 2 years because of their success and cheering on area teams on the statewide level, as I do with several area teams in that sport. Why isn't the Cox kid coaching anymore?

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
According to khsaa he played in the Murray lose. He was the missing link from last year because Berry was that other guy who could score 20.

Taylor County 86 Campbellsville 47 (20th District Senifinals)
they just repeated as region champs, speak on what mess they are in?

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
Not to turn it into a football thread, but IMO Taylor's best years in football are yet to come. The freshman and Sophomore groups (to be) are loaded, a COULD have 2 D1 level football players. I doubt there is any guy in the state that would be able to stop Goodin. IMO the best way to go at him would be to make him work on the defensive end. Maybe get him in foul trouble but let him know your not gonna back down. Sloan is another guy who can get to the basket at will and is a better shooter than Goodin.

Transfers impacting Regional Champions
Are you considered a transfer if you move BEFORE you freshman year?
-
Mr. Basketball... Who you got?
Ok wasn't sure when the votes were casted. I would think they would at least wait until after the regional championship games.
-
Taylor County 69 Bardstown 53 (5th Region Championship)
Taylor is becoming the team everyone thought they would be to start the year. They've beat some very good teams the 2nd half of the season such as: Dunbar, Casey Co. NH, Bardstown, Hop town, and South Laurel.

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
Going with Taylor they have been playing much better ball of late. They seem to have came around and peaked and the right time. They could make a run at the title.
-
Mr. Basketball... Who you got?
Goodin gets it Taylor County is still playing and going to the sweet 16 2 years in a row.
