  1. Taylor only goes 7 deep so fatigue could have had something to do with. But missing FT's and TO's will not win you a big game. Taylor Co. also seemed to play to much 1 on 1 basketball.
  2. So it was a rumor that he WASN'T going to play in the regional tournament? Do you know the reason as to why he came off the bench? And 31 points off the bench in the region I guess that's what he meant he was going to get his shine regardless lol
  3. Numbers is probably one of the biggest advantages Mayfield had in Class A. Along with tradition, talent, and coaching lol. It wil be interesting to see how they stack up in AA, and I'm sure they are ready and looking forward to the challenge
  4. I could see using maybe the LIT rankings or a type of computer rankings if they seed teams. But this format has been used so long I doubt they change it anytime soon.
  5. So did Compton play for Green Co in the regional tournament, or was it just a RUMOR!!!!
  6. So even though he lives in The Taylor County's School district, he should attend campbellsville?
  7. 100% percent correct. Any parent would make the decsion which is best for THEIR child. And in Berry's case when you move and have a bonafide change of residence, and attend the school in that district it's all legal.
  8. Berry is from Taylor co. And even posted a l pic of him, goodin, and Webster when they played little league together. Anyone who applied for the TC job knew Goodin was the states top player in his class, so no way that should be held against him. The kids do mouth, but I agree that the coaches and parents are much worse.IMO Gatewood is a young, hungry, hardworking coach. The question will be how long does he stay at TC or does he try to get back to Louisville.
  9. I agree that the county schools are locking down the borders and its effecting Somerset. I would give DeSales the nod over Mayfield because of depth. DeSales will dress about 30-40 more kids than Mayfield. And after a long season and your in the 14th game of the season depth plays a major factor.
  10. The NH game it was a lot of trash talk, but it was from BOTH sides. I agree with the above post that it seems that a lot of folks are just hating on the new kid on the block. The 2 fouls that Q were probably the worse 2 calls ever in a regional championship game.
  11. The only Tech of the game and flagrant foul were both against Bardstown. With that said I didn't see much trash talking from either team to honest. Guys from both teams were making plays and going 100%. The TC and NH game had WAY more trash talking than the game last night. Yes the 2000 final against ETown and Marion in Green Co. they closed the doors as well. Before the Taylor Co. players arrived at the game it was already at least 200-300 TC fans waiting in line, and this was actually before the doors were opened. It was like a road game for Bardstown as 3/4 of the crowd were Taylor Co. fans. IMO that reason it's not played at CH each year is because other schools in the region will feel as it's an advantage for the Hardin county schools. It was close to getting were the floor was to dangerous to keep playing. IDK rather they decided to not turn the air on in the gym, or waited to late. But sitting in the stands I felt like I played 20 minutes tonight. It always seemed to me that TC was in control of the game even with Goodin on the bench. With Goodin playing his normal minutes it could have got real ugly I believe.
  12. TC's size I believe will be the deciding factor in this game. The refs in the TC/NH game were awful both ways IMO.
  13. Campbellsville SHOULD finish no worse than 9-1 regular season
  14. I totally agree many GREAT coaches have had 2 wins or less multiple seasons. I wasn't aware it was the basketball coaches son in law, yes that does make you wonder. Seems back for the former coach and from an outsider looking in seems him got the sort end on this deal. But for Green if the administration is supporting the new hire then it's the first step in having a successful program. As with all coaching jobs now the question is what are they expecting?
  15. Seems funny Green would fire a coach for winning 2 games, then turn around and hire a coach who only won 2 games.
  16. I wouldn't be to sure about that. At the end of the day I think it was Jagger's win-lose record that got him fired. I'm sure they could have found some coaches better or as good as Jagger's to apply. But it could have been rumblings that he wanted to come home and the adminstration at Larue went after him. And reading his bio on the EKU football website he has a 7 and 5 year old sons. So it's a great chance to comeback home and raise his kids. It's probably close to impossible to raise a family while coaching college football.
  17. And with the amount of talent returning I assume it will be some very good coaches to apply.
  18. So is it thr Engstrand guy that was mentioned earlier in the post? Didn't he just come off a 2 win season at Green co?
  19. As major success are you talking about state championship?
  20. I thought you mention in an earlier post Jaggers has as many playoff wins as this guy.
  21. That also brings in to question that maybe the higher powers at LaRue may already have a replacement in mind. Considering how teacher positions can be hard to find, and knowing that Jagger's will be there taking up a teaching position for a possible coach. Also for those close to the program will the other assistant coaches stay on?
  22. Knowing the talent or lack thereof that was behind at LaRue and he was offered the Henderson job and turned it down to stay he either A. Must have thought the talent at LaRue was much better than it it was B. Must haves thought he could coach them up if he knew how bad the talent behind the first team he had C. Really like the area for he and his family and wanted to show loyalty to the school who gave him his first HC job. Also I seen mentioned in another post is that he will keep his teaching position, is there any truth to that?
  23. The problem is as someone else stated no matter how bad a player is mom and dad think hes a D1 athlete. Then add on top of that they may win a few games in middle school and little against teams they don't play in high school, such as Central, Bell, Wayne, and Corbin. Josh has a name and regardless of his record as Head coach I'm sure he will get another shot, Heck it seemed that the Henderson job was his for the taking without any head coaching experience. If the majority of the people in the community still wanted him as head coach, yet the higher ups didn't want him that's a shame. As it would be if the higher ups decided to keep a coach the community wanted gone. And your right SEVERAL good coaches started their coaching career with awful records. Some go one to be a Mack Brown, Art Briles, or Sam Harp. Some also never get another chance to be a head coach. i'm hoping that Josh gets that chance to be a HC again.
